are there any useful tips you can give me on production and stuff that is hard to do or find in ableton live 7? i can alway use others help.

well my best advice is to run through the tutorial a little bit and make sure you have some sounds to expirament with, as long with percussion samples... do not use the default samples in ableton, they are horrid
