We both got a few kills on each other but the server we were playing in was quite laggy and full of my old clanmates so I did more chatting than killing..lol. I've bought The Legend of Zelda : Twilight Princess yesterday. Played it for several hours and it's really that old Ocarina of Time gameplay and athmosphere. Can't wait to go play it again.

Agreed! HL2 is the greatest game ever made hands down. Episode 2 looks really good and with it shipping with Team Fortress 2 & Portal in March , how can you pass it up!

playing Call of Duty 3 on the xbox360. ooooo my God I am soo bored..lol. This game looks good but just another WW II shooter. Just doesnt stand out to me like the first one did and after playing Rainbow 6: Vegas this game just feels rushed and incomplete.

I just started playing through Prey. it's pretty fast paced and fun i guess. i wish i never played through half life 2 as my first 'next gen' PC shooter. i'm now comparing every shooter to it and nothing really measures up :/

Crysis Requirements

Crysis will no doubt be a fairly demanding game. It will require a good system to perform well. However, CryEngine2 is very scalable so lower end machines will still stand a chance.

Here is a list of confirmed information...

Crysis will run on both DX9 & DX10 as well as Windows XP and Windows Vista.
A graphics card that supports Shader Model 2 or higher is required.
CryEngine2 is estimated to scale back 2 years, and scale ahead 1.5 years.
A single 7800GTX will run the game quite well on fairly high settings according to Crysis Art Director, Michael Khaimzon.
Jack Mamais of Crytek said in an exclusive Crysis-Online interview that his X1900XT runs the game very well at reasonably high settings ( still unoptmized ).
Crysis will dynamically utilize all processing threads available. Meaning quad-core processors will be supported.The following specs are estimates made by myself based on the above mentioned information and other sources. These estimates are NOT official - but are based on official information.

Once again, these are estimates only and are no way official. I just want to makesure that is clear. However, if you have a graphics card similiar in performance to, or better than a 7800GTX, then expect to play Crysis quite nicely ( presuming your other system specs are up to scratch ).

I have pretty much made up my mind I am going to go with a Alienware 7500 just for this game and other future DirectX 10 games next month when Vista hits the market.

Traditionaly a pc gamer, but I am considering a career change to the consoles. As from the amount of euros I spend each to year to keep my rig up to date, I could easily afford all three the consoles. First Crytek said that their first upcoming graphical overload game Crysis couldn't be ported to the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3. Then they switched gears and said, "Oops ... looks like we were wrong." Now we have some evidence that confirms it'll be coming to the 360 sooner than you think.

Granted, the proof is translated from todoxbox360.com, but if the Google translator is to be believed, then it looks like Crysis will be hitting Microsoft's bad boy at some point. The article doesn't say when, but it's tantalizing enough to make us drool. Crysis is visually amazing, and 360 owners would be happy to see it on their screens. Hopefully we'll have official word from Electronic Arts soon, although they're probably getting ready to ring in the New Year with millions of microtransactions.

What are all the natural disasters that will make it into Crysis?

Weather is one of the final things we are working on but we can confirm that tornadoes and earthquakes will definitely make it in to the game. Tornadoes will move through a scene and lay waste to anything it touches. Additionally, it may even pull smaller objects upside it and fling them away at high speed. Earthquakes will cause landslides and cause many natural obstacles that the player will have to traverse. We probably will not see these kinds of things in the multiplayer for the initial release of Crysis. (Who knows what mod teams will do).

Gamespot Interview Article with Cevat Yerli- January 6, 2007

Gamespot has released another article on Crysis. The questions gamespot have asked are more about the technology and difficulties involved in making a game for both DX9 & DX10 and Windows XP and Windows Vista. Included are two new screenshots, and a video.

The video is spectacular. It shows exactly how cinematic and exaggerated the gameplay will be. The motion blur, suit abilities, sound and the physics all make what appears to be a very very kick ass game. A few of the less noticeable things that I liked included how hard the player seemed to hit the ground when he went to prone, and how hard the melee attack hit the korean (blasting him back). So if this video doesn't get you excited, then I have absolutely no idea what would.

I recently have an Xbox 360 too. So I'm playing Splinter Cell : Double Agent now and then. Great, new experience compared to the previous SC's. I have all the SC's and this game is, by far, the best one. I love the fact that you have to be working for two organisations as a double agent.

The annual Consumer Electronics Show has started. The event will end on the 11th of January so hopefully this Crysis video is a sign of more good things to come. The video is only 8 seconds long, but they sure pack a lot into it. There's footage of an avalanche (Crysis will feature many natural disasters caused by the alien invastion including earthquakes, avalanches, tornadoes, tsunamis etc.) Also in the short clip is as a tank ripping through a house. Quite exciting stuff.

The demo level sees your US Special Forces character in a battle to seize a village from North Korean forces, and it starts off in the jungle. It's not an exaggeration to say that Crysis is causing many attendees to stop and gawk at the game's incredible graphics, which were being displayed for the first time taking advantage of DirectX 10. The visuals are incredible, and Crysis is certainly going to sell a lot of hardware as gamers upgrade their systems to play the game at maximum detail level. Surprisingly, the systems at the show weren't too unreasonable. We were told the game was running on a single-core high-end CPU with the latest Nvidia graphics card, and the frame rate was smooth for the most part. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli told us that the game still has plenty of optimization work to go through.

Crysis looks amazing when in motion. The game is stuffed with all sorts of graphical technologies that, when combined together, create the sensation of being in a tropical jungle under fire. In the demo, we stealthily approached the village and used an assault rifle to start picking off North Korean soldiers. With the alarm raised, the battle began in earnest, and we used the environment so that we could lean from cover and cut down enemy troops. Crysis takes place in a near-future setting, so we used our nano suit to switch power to various systems. Dumping energy into speed let us sprint at superhuman speeds over large distances. Directing power to strength let us pick up and toss heavy objects, knock down doors, and leap onto the roofs of village buildings. Diverting energy into armor made us effectively invulnerable to the small arms of the North Koreans. The downside is that using any of these abilities drains the power of the suit, which means you have to ration their use. Energy slowly regenerates if the suit isn't being used.

The most common weapon we used was the assault rifle, which can be modified on the fly with various scopes and attachments, depending on your need. One thing you can also do is divert suit power to strength and pick up enemies by the neck and hurl them 30 feet in the air, effectively killing them. We played hide-and-seek with the North Koreans, leaping onto rooftops and sniping down on them. The artificial intelligence showed some imagination. We saw the enemy soldiers try to use cover, and in one instance a soldier leaped over a fence to try to get out of our line of fire.

While picking off soldiers was fairly easy for our Special Forces operative, things got a lot hairier when the North Koreans brought in a helicopter gunship. Trying to shoot one down with an assault rifle is very difficult, since you'll probably run out of ammunition before you can inflict enough damage. Still, we were able to use location damage to take out various components on the gunship, such as the rocket pods, which crippled the helicopter's firepower. We then engaged in a running battle as the gunship used its weapons to try to kill us, shredding buildings and trees in the village. Fountains of dirt kicked up from near misses all around us as we scrambled for cover. One way to kill the gunship is to leap into a nearby vehicle and use the vehicle-mounted machine gun to shoot down the helicopter. Another way is to find a missile launcher in a building and use it to down the chopper. The problem was that in the demo we played, the designers purposely disabled the missile guidance system, which meant that the gunship could dodge many of the incoming missiles. Still, we were able to eventually score a hit by running beneath the helicopter and shooting up, minimizing the distance and the amount of time the pilot had to avoid the shot. The destruction of the helicopter ended the demo.

Throughout the entire demo all the graphical features of Crysis dazzled us. The use of motion blur and depth of field made any kind of sudden motion seem more realistic. Trying to use the iron sights of a weapon is also cool, as sun glints on the metal and the depth of field blurs objects that aren't in focus. The high dynamic range lighting and extensive shadowing made the level feel sun-drenched. In terms of sheer fidelity, the DirectX 10 version was noticeably better than the DirectX 9 version of the game that we've seen on previous occasions. Both versions look amazing, but DirectX 10 simply looks better.

Meanwhile, the demo gave us a taste of what to expect in the full game, though Yerli pointed out that it represents only a fraction of what Crysis will have to offer. We didn't get to see the alien invaders in this demo, or any of the interesting environments that are promised later in the game. As to when we can expect it to ship, Yerli said that they're currently on track for a spring release, though he also said that Crytek will not rush the game if more time is needed.

This video shows the player taken on an attack chopper. Talking about cinematic. Although muffled, you can clearly hear how intense the sound is. The player was only able to take out the chopper due to the component damage system. Make sure to admire the two stage helicopter explosion. Simply incredible

Here's another video from CES 2007. The first thing I noticed in this video were the jungle sounds. You can hear the russle of the trees, the birds, the grass and so much more. This video has quite a few explosions and plenty of explosions. It's even more intense than the last one. This is amazing stuff.

I think it's cuz the quests actually make sense and are worth while. Everquest, on the other hand, had quests that didn't make any sense and were pretty pointless. Lineage II quests were no fun and were generally just a pain in the ass.
Thinking Positively....
Everquest had an AWSOME community and endless amounts of raids avilable.
Lineage II had the best PVP system Ive ever had the chance to experience.

Yummy! I love some Battlefield. Been playing it since 1942 & Desert Combat. I liked BF 2 but 2142 is much more fun! I got ranked up to Major Silver then I have been giving the game a break. Alot of stats padders and hackers are ruining gameplay right now. Hopefully another new patch will come soon.
