created by DJs Pablo Martin & Alan Smithson, currently works for Traktor Pro

The Emulator touch screen you see on all the videos works by using a rear projection film on the backside of the glass. A short throw projector is mounted below the screen and projected up onto the glass making the image visible to both the DJ and the crowd. The actual screen is where the magic happens. The screen has hundreds of infrared sensors that form a grid over the glass and when your finger breaks this grid, the screen knows where you are touching and voila!(taken from here (http://www.smithsonmartin.com/faq/))

thoughts? :)

I saw it a few months ago, in some clubs for example in Germany DJs plays on it. But I prefer traditional console.

Word, as long the DJ is góód!

I really wonder how this could be interesting in a club, from my purist's point of view it wouldn't... but maybe in a regular discotheque it would work. I mean, how would you be able to have a strong feeling with the crowd when you don't have the time to have a decent look at them and see HOW the tune you are playing arrives in the crowd.

At least this toy is one of the devices that fits in the direction the clubbing scene is moving to: artists and producers are more and more taking over their roles.

^^ Definately, and the same goes for Ableton Live, Traktor etc.

When it's about this device: it looks awesome, but doesn't seem to add a l0t compared to good CDJ's and a decent mixer.... the speed to change to new tracks is awesome though
