VOTERS AT THE READY………
It is the single most important event in the dance calendar; it determines who’s up, down, in and out! It can only be the DJ MAG TOP 100 POLL.
It’s the only DJ poll that matters, and after more than a decade, it is safe to call it a phenomenon. This is the world’s most definitive guide to the movers and shakers that carve up your dancefloors, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever!
YOUR DJ NEEDS YOU! Proving dance music is far from dead, 124,000 dance fanatics from 147 countries voted in last year. That was a third up on the previous year, and we’re predicting the a further surge this time round, as voting couldn’t be easier. Navigate your way to www.djmag.com (http://www.djmag.com/) and make your feelings known.
This year’s the poll is slightly different. For the first time ever, DJ Mag will be giving out more gongs than ever before. As well as the all-important No. 1 DJ in the World accolade, there will be awards for the following categories.
BEST HOUSE DJ – BEST TECHNO DJ – BEST HARD DANCE DJ – BEST DRUM & BASS DJ
BEST BREAKBEAT DJ – BEST ELECTRO DJ – HIGHEST CLIMBER –HIGHEST NEW ENTRY
Will the mighty Paul van Dyk be robbed of his crown? Will Tiesto creep back and regain his throne? Or will one of the new kids shoot up from behind and turn the whole thing on its head? It’s all down to you! And with more reasons to vote than ever before, let’s ensure this year’s poll is another record breaker.
Voting opens on Wednesday 16th August, with a celebratory launch party on Thursday August 17th at top industry hang-out AKA in London. DJ Magazine have confirmed a stellar DJ line-up to see you through the evening that includes the genre screwing duo of COBURN, the mind battering STANTON WARRIORS, and many more to be confirmed.
It's voting time again!!
Voting is open from Wednesday 16th of August till the 25th of September.
My top 5 of this year:
1. Markus Schulz
2. Menno De Jong
3. Gabriel & Dresden
4. Armin Van Buuren
5. Tiesto

I just voted:
1. Armin Van Buuren
2. Gabriel & Dresden
3. Deep Dish
4. Kyau vs. Albert
5. Sander Van Doorn
Unforutantely I didn't get to vote for one DJ I really wanted to put.
6. I wanted to vote for Menno De Jong and I thought about it hard but the others influenced my trance taste the most.
But next year I will definitely vote for Menno De Jong(and I saw many of you already did).

My top 5
1. M.I.K.E. (he's the best ever!)
2. Above and Beyond (they made me fell in love with them on Trance Energy)
3. Fred Baker (he's more like mike style and he's just an awesome dude)
4. Danjo and Styles (i liked primer , i love danjo and styles)
5. Markus Schulz (like a lot that posted here, he's a good dj, earns some points imho)
Now , i had some difficulties:
Why not Tiesto ? Sorry he sucks atm, he only plays his own tunes.
Why not Armin ? The who's watching that he made just sucks and i can not forgive him for that.
Why not Airwave ? This was my biggest problem and i submitted before i thought of Airwave, so sorry here, i had to put him on place 4 and danjo on 5 and markus not in my list :/
And last: Why not Menno de Jong ? I had a private party with him (awesome party tbh) and he impressed me, but i didn't found any place for him between these real highlighters for me

You shouldn't think of his productions while this is a DJ Mag mate... not a "producer" mag.
1- Sander Van Doorn
2- Marcel Woods
3- Cor Fijneman
4- Judge Jules
5- Cosmic Gate

Till now you have the most surprising top 5 mate.. Cor Fijneman? Where or when did you heard him playing a world class set?
Same for Cosmic Gate, last time i heard them (years ago) they were playing hardtrance... or did their style completly changed? I really can't imagine!

Cor Fijneman played TE early in 2006 along side Mark Norman and he had the Around the World in 80 Days Tour where his sets were similar, give or take, to his TE set. Cosmic Gate is Cosmic Gate. Besides, the site said any DJ that left a mark on you this year. I heard Earth Mover (the album) and an old and new set, and boom, they're on the list.

why isnt there a best trance dj category?? someone please tell me that the most prestigious magazine in the edm world doesn't confuse trance and techno, PLEASE. thoughts, etc plz.
Its because the top 10 DJs and the top 100 are dominated by trance (& some prog) DJs so they thought they would give the other genres a chance.
The only guy who is not trance or prog in the top 10 are Carl Cox and Hernan Cattaneo.
Digweed, Sasha, and Deep Dish are prog.
Top 10 DJs of 2005
1. Paul van Dyk (Trance DJ)
2. Tiësto (Trance DJ)
3. Armin Van Buuren (Trance DJ)
4. Sasha (Prog DJ)
5. Ferry Corsten (Trance DJ)
6. John Digweed (Prog DJ)
7. Hernan Catteneo (House DJ)
8. Deep Dish (Trance DJ)
9. ATB (Trance DJ)
10. Carl Cox (Techno DJ)
So as you can see the top DJ will probably be Trance so thats why they don't have that category.

Cor Fijneman played TE early in 2006 along side Mark Norman and
-> That just SUCKED big time ! Worst set i ever heard ...
And i still can not forgive armin for that mistake he made sorry .
And M.I.K.E. nr 1 . I think the people who find him bad , never heard him play ! Armada room at TE he was insane, Sensation white belgium , his deck fell out due to electrical problem , he started after that with a superb style he said FUCK U ALL and he started to play his own style and it was an insane set!

1. Armin (I hope but i don't think that he will be number 1)
2. Above & Beyond (I see them at least at Top 10. They deserved it)
3. Μarkus Schulz (No offense but i can't understand how ATB is at the Top 10 and not Markus. His style is excellent. His show is one of the best in the world and his last two mix albums (Coldharbour Sessions 2004, Miami 05) were excellent and they received nice reviews).
4.Tiesto (I think that he will regain the first place)
5. Ferry Corsten (He will be in Top 10)
My apologies to Dj's like G & D, Sasha, SvD, Menno de Jong, Paul van Dyk, Andy Moor and others.

If it happens. I think it will be good for him. It will send him a clear message and will give him some motivation to get his act together.

New talent
Hi Everybody,
I just finished my gig in Las Vegas half an hour ago. I had an epic weekend with four great shows. I spent a couple of days in Tahoe, went to Austin Texas, a festival in Chicago and the Global festival at the Palms hotel in Vegas.
Every night I went out with the promoter of the city I was in and most of them where bringing up the DJ Magazine top 100 voting. It's a big thing for most of the promoters and most of them will book DJ's that are high on this list.
That made me think, because if that's the case the voting is important. Especially to breed new talent.
There are so many new great young DJ's out there that I feel it's time to give them a chance. I appreciate all the love and support I get from all over the world but I won this award three times so if I would win it a fourth time, it wouldn't make a difference for my career.
For the new talented DJ's around the world it could make a difference, so I would like to ask all the people who support me to vote for new talent.
Don't vote for me, vote for the new breed!
I just voted myself and my personal top 5 is:
1.Eddie halliwell
2.Sander van doorn
3.Serge deviant
4.Blake jarrell
5.Richard Durant
Thanks again to everybody who came to my shows and who bought the new single 'dance4life'!
Love,
Tiësto
what do you think ??
this is major statement!
tiesto won't win this year, cos everybody will pick armin
but this is like tiesto tired of being champion, at least he knows #1 doesn't mean you're the best
who the heck is #3 to #5 anyways??
my votes goes to:
1. Sasha
2. Armin
3. John '00' Fleming

Yes, I read also on his official website, I think he's trying to be wise and fair, and I totally agree with him. Just like in Kung Fu movies, once you became a master, then you should give a chance to other people to bloom and to reach the top.
My salute to Tiesto...!!! :redbull:

1. Tiësto
2. Armin van Buuren
3. Phynn
4. Above & Beyond
5. Cosmic Gate
Tiësto is still nr.1 for me!!! Cause he got me hooked on trance music :) He's still the god of trance music imo. Why nobody is voting for him anymore?!?!
ISOS5 is a good cd in my eyes...and he still gives away good gig's and livesets.
Only thing is he becoming a bit to commercial, he rather stick underground!
Phynn is the best producer atm imo...i love all of his work :D He's gonna be big I guess, he's only 21....
And Armin will win the mag this year...im sure :) He's is getting on the same level as Tiësto were 2/3 years ago....he's huge!
