This is gonna be the fifth time i'll visit Trance Energy! This is the best event imo. Great atmosphere, awesome crowd. Can't wait to zee Markus, Oakie and Phynn. Seen Markus last year at the Armada stage, it was of the hizzle! Weird to see Rank 1 at the clubstage, and Mark Norman at the futurestage. They both deserve a spot at the mainstage.

Oh yeah, Joop - The future is suppose to be the anthem? To bad Johan Gielen - Triplecross didn't make it. Its much more of a anthem to me. Oh well Im gonna have a great time anyway.

You're right. What about all the Armada party's. Armin will be present at each party I guess. But he's not that good of a DJ during party's so I won't miss him during TE.

Alex, really i don't think it's needed to buy ear protection, especially not at such a huge location as the Jaarbeurs.
If you really think the volume is too loud you can easily go to the back of the area a bit, as the biggest volume is coming from the DJ booth.

You don't know my ears... I rarely go out, they haven't 'gotten used to' loud noise. Ah well I'll see, I'll bring something simple with me, just in case. Any other stuff that is useful to know and prepare? I know it's a bit early, but anyway ;)

Ah i'm not complaining about the line up.Theres a lot of djs on it that i'm familar with their productions but have never witnessed them DJ but i'm still sad about Armin.I know he plays his own partys but when he plays something like this its always extra special. Ps Alex, don't wear good shoes as there's alcohol on the floor everywhere... ive had quit some shirts with burn holes as people touched it with their fucking cigarettes.

Utrecht is "the heart" of The Netherlands so it's easy to come there, especially by train!
Trains from A'dam To Utrecht are leaving every 12 min and take about 20-25 min.
One way tickets are 6,40 Euro, return tickets are 11,70 Euro

Last year there was a different line up and also the date was different, so this year can be totally different.

If it were sold out one month in advance, I should be ordering my ticket not the last week. There are a lot of concers which I've been too where you needed to order your ricket 1 month in advance. And I don't want to miss this event. SO, I want to be sure I have my tickets. Since I've never been to TE so far, I don't know how popular or how many people are coming to it. I got the tickets and the ride to TE:D This years line up must be one of the best lineups ever. I was at TE 2006 and it was awesome, my favorite is playing this year again, Marcel Woods! This years theme song isn´t as bad as many are saying i think, but last years was much better because it was Advanced.

Well the last years TE was always sold out or nearly sold out. The stages were totally full with people and at the main stage you couldn;t dance without standing on other peoples feets:P.

The best way for you guys is to travel by train from Eindhoven to Utrecht. The location of Trance Energy is a 5 minutes walk from Utrecht Central Stastion. It will cost you about 10 euro per person I think.

I don't know when you return to Spain. But if you go back on sunday to Eindhoven, then you can choose for a 'weekend retour', it will save you some money.

On Topic:

For me the fourth Trance Energy in march. Two years ago it was a disappointment, so I took a year off ;), and now with a good line-up ready for a return.

That language is Dutch. Such a common mistake for people to make and really annoying that people think our language is German.

But anyway, go to that site again and wait for the ticket of Trance Energy to scroll by at the homepage. Then, select the TE ticket and then it says 'Selecteer Tickets' in the left-side of the screen. Then click on 'Verder' and the rest will be easy to find out.

nah i agree! back in around the year 2000 i first downloaded few of his tracks. NONE of them were even up to my standards. In 2003 i heard him in live in Sydney Australia and god he was SHIT!! awful throughout the night. It really turned out night upside down! When the local DJs started again, we were back for a good night.
So yea....i dont think trance energy is his type of music so he shouldnt be there!!

I haven't heard Oaky much lately but he stole my heart late 90s, think he was one who got me into Trance, even if his latest works would stink then he still got my respect and would love to see him at TE!
And hey, if he sucks then take a walk for 2 min and your in front of someone else so don't worry :)

That depends on wether/whether the event is being recorded. If there is a radio-station presents, the sets will be broadcasted and recorded and eventually publiced on the internet.

That is a good question :) It determines my mode of transportation. If there aren't any, i'll have to put my stuff in the car, if there are i can come by train and have a few drinks :bg:

Mobile phone, watch and wallet can easily be taken with you. But a camera is just too big and it's too crowded to use it there. But the rest is fine.

I always take my camera, till last year i had a big one and never had problems with it myself.
There are also lockers which you can use for 1 euro or smth.

There ARE safety peeps which are checking you so the risk that you will be refused is always there, but hey.. then you can always go back to your locker and put it there.

Too bad Phynn and Menno spun at the same time, we decided to see Phynn and man, he did a great job. Stayed in the main practically the entire evening (till cosmic gate started), really liked Sander Van Doorn's, Markus' + Paul Oakenfold's set. Went to see Gareth Emery afterwards, liked the sound but I missed some variation.

Anywayz, my first party this year was an excellent kick-off for the next to come ;-)

The highlight of the evening was surprising for me actually ! I really loved Gareth Emery's set ! The visuals on the screens behind him were matching perfectly and the set was perfect. I'd love to hear a recording of that.
Phynn was also a pleasant surprise ! SvD and Markus schulz gave away a nice set too.

What do you guys think of the CD ? I quite like it, we had a good time listening it in the car on the way back. I even stopped the car underway, so I could finish listening the last 10 minutes of it before we got home. (Driving was quite hard though, with visibility of less than 20 metres at times...)

Yes! It was this weekend, the party of all parties, the one and only, Trance Energy, the 2007 Edition!! Of course, my first big party ever can't pass by unnoticed, so this asks for a review. Of course most of you will probably know most of it, or think it's not so special, but hey, it's the first time I'm doing this.

Ok, so I went from home, nearly forgot to write down which trains I had to take, and almost forgot my ticket. But it went ok. Of course, thanks to our great railroad system I had to take a bus somewhere in between, while usually it's possible to do the whole trip in the same train. So that was pretty screwed up.
Funny note: In the train there was a woman actually tried to open the door of the electricity of the train is located, because she thought it was the door for going down the train's stairs. Which were right next to it, by the way... And in the bus I was witnessing a flirting attempt. I thought it was pretty fun to see, because I saw him doing exactly those things wrong which I always did wrong too (those silences where they shouldn't be, trying to find an excuse for not knowing what to say, like sending an sms for example, etc.) Pretty logical though, it was a very pretty girl ;)

Ok, so finalIy I was there, and after a big piece of pizza (I hadn't had dinner yet), and after noticing that all the batteries for my camera where empty... the party could begin!

So, well, there's this big blur from somewhere from the beginning until somewhere at the end, of which I can only remember beats, melodies, and painful feat. And then I went home.

...Somewhat of an anti-climax, huh. Ok, here comes the real story:

We had to be searched for drugs before going in, but if that keeps people from bringing all that shit inside, they may in my opinion.
I had made myself a program for which artists I wanted to see. And the first one in the line was, at Future Stage, Menno de Jong! He started of a bit slow, with Jonas Steur feat. Jennifer Rene - Falling Into Pieces. Awesome song, but it was a shame the volume and some other things weren't good yet, so the effect was kind of lost. But, after a quick break to get my ear protection from my locker, I noticed Menno had adjusted volume up and he was really going on big time! He played some of those ASOT songs, which we all know pretty well already, but the show was great! Go Menno! And he had a lot of fun too, that adds to the effect. Especially when Evergreen was played, the mood went up big time. A shame though the screens in the Future Stage were malfunctioning quite a lot... But that's not a big deal, as long as there's music!

Next one was Sander van Doorn at Main Stage. It was decorated with the usual load lighting (although I believe there were less than last year), and a bunch of huge screens. I thought I wouldn't really like Sander's set, since I think his productions are somewhat too rough most of the time, but I was completely mistaking. The show was rough, which I liked since I had just been fired up at Future, and still had a lot of good melodies in it. I can't really say which tunes they were, I only recognized Grasshopper somewhere. But it was very good. I did miss a small part of it, because I was supposed to met some friends from over the internet in the chillout area. But it seems like they didn't show up :(

And then, the best set of the day started. Markus Schulz, at Main! He mashed up a lot of vocals in tunes, and did some other freaky things, but I can't even explain them. The set was great! Completely flawless, with some great epic parts in it, and some guaranteed ID tunes. And of course, everyone started singing along when Alex Morph's remix of Without You Near came along :D I don't have much more to say about it, it was just WOW!

And then there was the Live part of Joop and Bolier. I didn't really hear it was live, but the overall sound was very good, continuing on Schulz's set. It was pretty banging and sounded good, but besides that, no further comment.

For the next artist, I was still at Main, it was... Paul Oakenfold!! A lot of people say he sucks these days. Well, they are the ones that suck, at having a good taste for music :p The set he played was very good, ranked nr. 2 of the evening for me. He started of with some epic angelic voices, probably from a movie, a good start. And there was this very long and pretty beautiful movie that played especially during his set, which mixed futuristic images of floating people and strange objects, with scenes of nature, like the ice caps. That really added to the effect, of a set that was already very good. But, I actually thought I heard a little flaw in the beatmatching at a certain point! You shouldn't be making such mistakes after all those years, quite a bummer... But the doctor said it's not lethal, I will survive it ;) Seriously, besides that small problem it was a great set. At some point I was dancing so fiercely that some guy even asked me for XTC, he thought I had that!

During Schulz's, Oakie's or the Live set, there was a light effect that made a lot of small blue/white dots on the ceiling. Kind of like you were looking at the op sky, I really loved that.

Somewhere around that Oakenfold set, I really felt my legs hurting. I had been dancing since Menno already, without much of a pause, and that really starts to have it's effect after a while. And at the point I really thought I was going break down... I just kept on dancing :D For half an hour that is. After that, Oakie's set was over, and I went to the chillout area to massage my very painful heals.

After Oakenfold, Cosmic Gate started playing. And although they're probably good DJ's, I also wanted to take a look at the other stages, so I thought I could afford missing their set. At the Club Stage, I got a taste of Bobina, who really deserves some credit, I heard some very nice tracks there. The Hard Stage looked pretty cool, but that's just not the kind of music I like, so I just walked through it, back to Future Stage, to get my fare share of Gareth Emery. I have the same comment on him as on Bobina, pretty skilled, nice tracks. I also decided to buy the Trance Energy CD at that point, because I had the time anyway. A shame though that, since I had to get my money from the lockers outside of the 'drug free' area first to buy the CD, after which I had to go there again to put it in my locker, I had to be checked for drugs twice! Which means less listening to music :'(

Then I went back to the Main Stage, for big boy Marcel Woods! He played a very good set too, hard and doing some nice damage on the floor ;) I noticed the screen was off most of the time during his show, which did fit better with the hard character of the set. Although I believe I did hear a lot of his own tracks, I just don't think that's appropriate to do. But that might be just be me.

Somewhere in the middle of the set I got very hungry, but I didn't want to miss the set so I had a grumpy stomach for the rest of the set. But at the end I took another drink, and some food, which helped me to get through those last hours. First I checked out Cor Fijneman, since I didn't want to be at the Main Stage anymore, I had had my taste of that. Fijneman is somewhat chubby, but a great DJ with a big smile on his face, it was reallly funny how he started almost started tripping on the his songs himself :p

Somewhere around 06.30 I was done with it, and I only wanted to go home. It was great to see that I was surrounded by a load of fellow TE'ers on the ride home, a lot of people played songs they had recorded live on their mobile phones ;)


So, I had a great time, and, while writing this, still a pair of very sore feat! The mood was great, everyone was friendly, the music was awesome, I'm definitely going to do this again! Oh and, on a side note, if you ever see a commercial for Trance Energy and they show some beautiful girls at the party, don't think they just did that to make you think there are lots of beauties there, because there seriously are thousands of beautiful girls/women there! A shame they usually come with their boyfriends though... But besides the girls, you saw all kinds of people. People of 40+, people in wheelchairs, 'small people'... Everything you can imagine.

Conclusion: Trance Energy 2007 was GREAT!!!

And now I'm going to get some sleep...

Haven't heard many positive surprises, sounds quality was good but in most area's but the sound level was way too low.
Crowed suckt big time, no "clowns" and only a few people were really dancing, the rest was moving only their heads... on the rythm... whoohooo!!!
Only really unexpected positive thing was the food/drinks and huge chillout area's.
Oh and i forgot the great air conditioning.
Keeping in mind that there are like 30.000 people, im sure the temp. wasn't higher then 18 or 19 degrees, perfect when your wasted of dancing and need some oxygen.

Go to a agricultural party and you'll see even worse. I didnt have any problem with the hands washing though, the places I visited were working fine. Plus point for me was that the toilets were free. I have been in places where they ask 5 euro for it !!

Just returned from Amsterdam. TE 2007 was massive. I really enjoyed it and most DJ's I've seen were doing great jobs. The highlight was the Set of Johan Gielen when he was playing Airwave (or was ist Breathing?) But I didn't like this stupid MC's in nearly every area.

Yeah I like you can see in the review, I have been there around 12... But I didn't see any weirdo's with way to yellow pants over there :icon_mrgreen: Maybe I should've posted a picture of myself here too... Ah well, can happen.

I was very pleased about the sound levels actually, I had expected them to be higher, but I already used protection with this level. I also tried without, but the only difference was that my ears started to hurt, didn't really add to the experience for me...

And, you haven't seen a lot of people dancing? Because then I am absolutely sure you missed me:smile1:


About those toilets: Left of the future stage, in a part that actually belonged to the Garderobe-section, there were very good toilets, that had no waiting times and were pretty clean. If I had to go, I went there, so I don't know what the other toilets looked like, but that one was very good.

and sander van doorn played good either
in the beginning there was something wrong with the volume by bas & ram, but when it was fixed it was crazy :S

i had expected more of paul oakenfold, i don't know how to say in english, maar de tijd dat ik bij main stond en hij draaide, heb ik zeker 5x gehoord dat hij de nummers niet goed in elkaar over liet gaan, een beetje jammer :S
Randy Katana at the end was awesome, just like Cor Fijneman :D
