Which ones do you use to mix your tracks Djs?
I use upfaders. Im used to mixing with them and i dont know the mix sounds better to me upfaded from crossfaded. BUT i do see soem people use crossfaders which i find odd but lol whatever makes them happy let them do it:) . What do you djs use?

It depends. If I am mixing trance then I use levels and If I am spinning breaks I use a fader.

haha I learned of a crossfader and can do some nice scratching tricks (flares, crabs, hamster transform etc.) but doesnt help me much playing trance. eq and levels (guess you guys call it upfaders) is where its at for a much more technical mix.

upfaders 4 sure - cant control the mix ratio with cross faders
i always fade in with the upfader for perfect control
and push down the outgoing tune at the same time

When I first started mixing, which was Hard Trance and NRG, I used the cross fader, which I still do, but only when I'm chopping from one track to the other for 1 beat or so, or maybe whipping in a sample or something. But when I mix trance and progressive I always use the levels. You have so much more control over the levels of each track. The crossfader is more for scratch mixing, and plus it usually is the first thing to go on a mixer.

I always use the upfaders. Just a habit now and I agree that there is more control.

I've been using upfading for a while. You get more control of what you are playing.

Upfaders, because using the crossfader is wierd and the other track comes in so abrupt/fast when you use a crossfader. Plus, you have more balance with the upfaders.
nah, crossfader was made for switching and levels for cutting and mastering
i don't think that xfader is for noobs because it's unnatural to say.
you can use both ways but it is much more easier with one hand

upfaders, cause crossfaders (till today) have bad algorithems, even though that in newer mixes u have various presets, its still not as smooth as in upfaders :(

i personally use the upfaders, i just found my mixing was alot smoother and more pleasent to the ear, but i do use the cross fader from occasion when doing very quick cuts or even better... what you can do with fader start and cross fade curver is replicate some scratching type noises by cutting back on the cross fader, either that or with matrix assignable mixers apply the same song to either side of cross fader and then effect one side therefore creating a wet/dry effect fader... nice!

When I'm mixing, the crossfader rarely gets used.

I like to use the Upfaders for a slow steady blend (for trance) and the only time il use the crossfader is when i do a cut or chop in whilst mixing breaks, or electro :blink1:

when im mixing i use the up/down levels becuase i use more PA stuff that Dj stuff, so like i mix on big consoles, aha, and they dont got no x-faders, also i feel the levels give you more control over ur mix

upfaders rule, crossfaders are like from the 80-ties.
the mixing control is way much better when using upfaders than a crossfader:)

Totally agree; same here ;)

My crossfader is usually sitting in one of 3 positions, left, right, or middle. I do most of my mixing with range knobs and kill switches.
