Biography:

My name is Academia and I love trance. With that love, I have decided to make a more serious approach in making trance a part of my life. As such, I have made a weekly two-hour show called Trance Odyssey.

Trance Odyssey will be hosted by me on SoundCloud (and linked through my Facebook page) every Wednesday night. Every week, I will highlight a specific genre/feel/type of trance, presenting the many facets that make up trance music. Furthermore, in every episode, I will feature a specific trance artist or group and play five of their tracks, whether it be remixes, original mix, mashups, side projects, or anything else. Through the two hours, Trance Odyssey will present listeners with an evolution of trance.

I definitely also want to say that a lot of inspiration for this show has stemmed from countless of years listening to trance and such trance shows as Trance Around The World with Above & Beyond, A Journey Into Trance with Ascension, Global Trance Grooves with John 00 Fleming, Corsten's Countdown, Euphonic Sessions with Kyau & Albert, Trance Tuesday, The Perfect Mix with DJ Eros, Flightbook with Ferry Tayle, Sean Tyas' Tytanium Sessions, and other influential podcasts. Of course, my selection of trance tracks could also not have been a reality had it not been for such amazing trance compilations such as the Trancemaster series, Trance World, In Search of Sunrise, Magik, Anjunabeats, and many many more wonderful trance compilations.

While I aim to become a progressive and uplifting trance DJ and producer, Trance Odyssey will feature a wide pallet of trance, ranging from psy, acid, hard, tech, progressive, melodic, uplifting, and much more. I will provide tracklists and updates concerning Trance Odyssey and Academia through the show, SoundCloud, this Facebook page and other social media if possible.

Trance Odyssey is a work-in-progress and I will always continue with making the show better and better with each episode and hopefully it will bring me one step closer to my dream of becoming a trance DJ.

Lastly, as a lot of people have been influential in the making of Trance Odyssey, I would like to thank you all for the support and aid in making this be reality. You know who you are. Thank you for all the comments, critiques, technical advice, musical advice, logo designs, voice-overs, and trance.
