how do DJs beatmatch so easily? im getting the hang of it but what i usually do is increase the pitch by .75+ if the cue track is 1 bpm higher than the one playing..i know some tracks are not exactly like (for example 135.0 BPM, rather like 135.12312431)....ill play a track at like 135 and the cue track is 137..and ill try to beatmatch the cue track to the one playing..and i still cant get it to perfectly beatmatch by the time the track playing is about to end. can anyone help me out? im having no problem beatmatching with the jogwheel..but i am having problems increasing/decreasing the pitch to match songs perfectly. i am using the pioneer CDJ200s
just keep practicing and it'll come to you
the reason they can do it so easily is because theyve had an awful lot of practise
"nowadays there are 2 types of DJs. One that is really technical, wants to create an amazing mix, a great sound and then want to go back into the studio and refine what they do. Then the 2nd type who just want to go up turn one knob in front of the crowd, put their arms up in the air and say ‘look at me I just rolled off all the bass for 2 bars’ and pretend they're Jesus’." - Charlie May
I have CDJs myself and I have mixes hundreds of tracks. I can beatmatch almost anything now. Just mix for an hour a day, within a few weeks you'll beatmatch anything.
not sure what you mean.. are you beatmatching with the jogwheel, but not the pitch? or did you mean you beatmatch two songs at the same bpm easy with the jog?
i can beatmatch easily with the jogwheel..but its like..i have problem adjusting to the perfect % pitch when im trying to make the BPM of the cue track to equal to the track playing. like when im trying to adjust the pitch of like a cue track at 135 to match the track playing at 138..thats when it gets pretty hard for me..i have a hard time finding the perfect % pitch..but i guess its what everyone is telling..just practice! ill get there sooner or later =)Originally Posted by ^JASON
