i have some international friends from parts of china here who have never had these before, which really surprised me.
some people here are deterred from eating these after finding/hearing about bugs at the places, where they make it, or even IN their subs.

the only sushi i don't really like is that orange jiggly stuff called uni - it's the insides of a spiny thing called a sea urchin. some people love it, but i think it tastes like a mouthful of ocean water. blech.

yeah sashimi is just raw fish but i only like salmon sashimi, it's sooo goooooddd..
actually i've never tried any other kind of sashimi other than salmon and tuna;
i don't think japanese restaurants here are first-class when it comes to variety in their menus, all the places i've been to have pretty much the stuff.
