Well i'll be honest, i'm giving it a try but so far coming up with nothing better than you've already got. The problems being the lack of decent photography I can actually use, rights are a bit of a biatchOriginally Posted by SoundLift
. I might have to take some shots myself when given the chance.
I could do with some better versions of the logos too. The one you have for Soundlift I would literally have to remake to clean it up enough.
If I get the time i'll keep giving it a go but you're better looking at one of the other shoppers around here
KBog you around?![]()

You may use the ImageYou may not use the Image
- In digital format on websites, multimedia presentations, broadcast film and video, cell phones.
- In printed promotional materials, magazines, newspapers, books, brochures, flyers, CD/DVD covers, etc.
- Along with your corporate identity on business cards, letterhead, etc.
- To decorate your home, your office or any public place.
- For pornographic, unlawful or other immoral purposes, for spreading hate or discrimination, or to defame or victimise other people, sociteties, cultures.
- To endorse products and services if it depicts a person.
- In a way that can give a bad name to SXC or the person(s) depicted on the Image.
- As part of a trademark, service mark or logo.
- SELLING AND REDISTRIBUTION OF THE IMAGE (INDIVIDUALLY OR ALONG WITH OTHER IMAGES) IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN! DO NOT SHARE THE IMAGE WITH OTHERS!

from the same page:
Always ask permission from the photographer if you want to use the Image
In website templates that You intend to sell or distribute.
For creating printed reproductions that You intend to sell.
On "print on demand" items such as t-shirts, postcards, mouse pads, mugs (e.g. on sites like Cafepress), or on any similar mass produced item that would contain the Image in a dominant way.
If you are free in your dreams, then why don't you go to places you always wanted to go?

Yes I saw that. It does not apply, like it says, because he is not:
A) Making a website template using the image and selling it
B) Making a print of this image to sell it
C) Making t-shirts, postcards, mugs etc out of the image

It was sketchy to me at first as well, but then I thought, why would they have saidOriginally Posted by Darren

I'm not sure how it can be used as a cd/dvd cover and not have the intent to be printed![]()
The cd/dvd cover isn't a total reproduction of the image as it is edited with the artist, titles and other art, which is why I don't think it falls under the permissions category.
Could be right, could be wrong, I think they make this stuff confusing on purpose!!!
Edit: I think this is what it means by printed reproduction: http://gilad.deviantart.com/art/A-sl...-life-64298703
You can't take that image and then print it and sell it as your own. Soundlift is using an altered image and is selling the cd, not the image alone for profit.

Definitely agree with you on the last partOriginally Posted by Kbog
I had forgotten they specified elsewhere it's okay for CD's etc. I Find it strange that they allow printing on discs which will have likely have hundreds to thousands worth of copies for something succesful. Then when it comes to mugs it's banned despite the mug being likely sit in Gran's cupboard and never see the light of day again
Maybe lowering the image to such menial use is what they have issue with?!![]()
