Adding my two cents here:
I've observed that mostly uplifting trance uses pretty much similar synths and even melodies - It's almost like a mark of the genre. If a track doesn't use the same old musical arrangements, it's no longer uplifting trance.
Compare that to progressive and tech trance. I've seen (solely my personal opinion) that many tracks do have new things to offer. Most producers have unique styles in those genres (some like Shogun/First State excepted, of course). New different sounds keep coming up in these sub-genres (look at Wezz Devall, Ummet Ozcan, W&W, R.E.N.O.I.S.E., ...). However, in the case of uplifting/orchestral, even most new producers have sounds similar to ones already existing simply because the genre is so restricted. They end up getting called cheesy/rip-offs.
I have nothing against uplifting, mind you, I'm a HUGE fan of SoundLift, but what I feel is - this is the state of the genre. No use blaming a couple of producers for it.

Lol, people finally catching up on this. It's been this way for years now...But hey... Orjan Nilsen - So Long Radio, nuff said.
think - think - think - think - think - think - think - think... Keep that brain burning sugar, gets you somewhere...
Yeah, but then people would start crying over that instead. Let's say Armin starts releasing Coldharbour stuff. People would then pray that he goes back to his Going Wrong-style.
Tiesto tried new ideas, and got hated by a lot of trance folks. Not saying his current style is good, just you know.. Saying![]()
Top 3 tracks
1. D-Mad - She Gave Me Happiness (Arty Remix)
2. Masoud ft. Laurie - Blinded (Sebastian Brandt Remix)
3. Ron Hagen & Al Exander - Last Minute (Beat Service Remix)

People say that kind of stuff a lot, but maybe that's the way? I think it's rather the way of changing than how radical it is which is the negative factor with Tiësto. And, some radical change in the right direction (whatever that might turn out to be) could also inspire other producers.

you don't need radical changes. Just be diverse for heavens sake. Look at Solarstone - the guy never got stuck at same plucks, synths, melodies. His albums and compilations are of full variety, from breakbeat to downbeat from progressive to general trance. Maybe it comes to talent I don't know, but you really don't have to switch from A to Z, just don't get stuck on A

As an uplifting listener, lover and huge suporter, there is plenty to say.
1. @ SoundLift: I have noticed that you have been released A LOT of tunes lately and actually I almost hear the same sounds that I can hardly find the diffrerence between them, I did not say that I dont like your style, actually I do but you must be concernd about to release quality instead quantity: I fell in love with your track Lenda, which IMHO is an uplifting masterpiece, hence I though you were a producer to keep an eye on. You should try to use keyboard more often and put aside the orchestral elements, just keep the good work mate
2. Dont think that uplifting trance be a strongly restricted genre as I have been fortunate to hear beatiful uplifting creations since I catched up by this great (sub)genre, just to name a few:
Airbase - Genie
Dito - Sky [Talla 2Xlc Remix]
Cold Blue & Del Mar - 11 Days [Original Mix]
Andy Blueman & Reconceal - The World To Come [Andy Blueman Mix]
Filo & Peri meets Myke Foyle - Luana [Original Mix]
The Aviator - Let You Go [Dave202 Remix]
Ron Van Den Beuken - Sunset [Ron Van Den Beuken Remix]
8 Wonders - Eventuality
You easily can recognize a tune from each other of above listed altough all is uplifting trance.
It's true that nowadays there are A LOT of generic trance and Im sad because of that, it's like fast food, ready to get consumed by people withiout considering if it has quality or doesnt. For those it's enough if it seems like trance.
What I mean is that there is no need to change from uplifting to progressive and pretend to make "something different" just my point of view![]()

Current favs:
Pedro del Mar & Blue Tente - You Left [Ferry Tayle Universal Language Remix]
Torin Schmitt featuring Ryan Merchant - Follow [Stonevalley & Khaomeha Uplifting Mix]
Rene Ablaze meets Oen Bearen & Pillow - In Two At More Ease [Original Mix]
Photographer - Takeoff [Kaimo K Rough Remix]

asot.pl yeh, i noticed something.... they all have the same kick
nah maybe a little explanation, they all play chords with the pluck, they can also play the chords with a pad or something like that but the pluck is a good way to make a happy dance-able version of that. I think we could do the same with the sidechained pads, sidechained basses and gated leads/chords... they are all the same![]()
