I find the most creative/weird to my ears style of the EDM i'm listening the so called IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) or in my own words Dub-Soulful-with-Minimal-influences-Techno, pretty much hard to explain without samples, which of course will follow
It's the simplicity yet beauty these artists/tracks have to offer, nothing aggressive in the likes of 140 BPM or something, it's just chilly and laidback music, perfect to have a few hours off the world, think of some stuff and just let emotions flow. One of my all time favourites track of this so called style i explained earlier is probably this:

for more tracks of this IDM style ... i would recommend the album Orchestra of Bubbles by Ellen Allien and Apparat, released in 2006.
Here are some of the tracks...

another track that comes in my mind, a bit more techy and jazzy as explained in the video itself, an actual rework of a jazz tune ... this.

everything has to be seen in it's own era.

Classical music was really creative back in the days, same goes for tracks from "The Beatles" in the 60's, house in the end of the 80's, trance in the mid./end 90's and so on

For me the most creative genre, its all, all of them have their complexity, but to choose probably breakbeat, because of the strong beats and their pattern

    take care

rather, there are producers who put more effort into their tracks than others.

but i'll tell you about one genre that has no creativity or sense whatsoever - this new style 'uplifting/orchestral trance' where chord progression has been replaced with, well... noise, and counter-melodies with cheap 'balearic' (zomg) guitar riffs.

Sound exactly like a remix I just done

I think the creativity of a single genre doesn't exist, as it's been touched by other people you have to make a track by track opinion

    This.

Altough I think downtempo is the most creative because is very rich in sounds.
    Current favs:

Pedro del Mar & Blue Tente - You Left [Ferry Tayle Universal Language Remix]
Torin Schmitt featuring Ryan Merchant - Follow [Stonevalley & Khaomeha Uplifting Mix]
