That tension will always be there. But not every drug user uses drugs because 'it's not allowed', in fact, I think that is a small minority. We would make a lot of progress as a country by making drugs like cannabis legal. It's 2011 now, I wonder how long it will take before politicians will finally stop being so biased about this and actually look at the facts (or the voters realize the flaws conservatives are making)

That's yet another reason to be even more cynical about politics, politicians and our democracy in general.

and the krokodil description doesn't really fit as they have armored skin and the humans not any at all or rotten pulverized skin.. 'zombie' would be a better name

And why would the government be allowed to prevent me from consuming things I like as long as I don't hurt others. In my personal case the hospitals wouldn't see me for a long time, so does the dentist, because I eat fucking healthy.
Personally I'm neutral when it's about the use of drugs on personal level.
I'm clean myself and usually able to party harder than the regular xtc user = major lol when they come to me telling me that I have a big party.
Mostly I trust the people arround me who use it, I don't mind they make a little more noise maybe, and lots of them would not reach the hospital. But I have one major thing when it's about regulating:

At least here in the netherlands we should arrange the problems about binge/coma/fun drinking first. They cost our government (= us) millions of euros every year, and these numbers are increasing every year.
And what about the ques for the rehab? I've heard enough stories about people who were addicted to weed but had to wait 6 months because there was no place for them in the rehab.

How the heck do you think the mass of people can cope with harddrugs then?
Imagine all those 15 or 16 yr olds getting addicted to cocaine

I think im gonna be sick...........yuk!

How many deaths does Alcohol & Tobacco cause every year?

How many deaths does Ecstasy and Cannabis cause every year?

2 of the above are legal.

How much do governments make on the tax of the above?

Why is it socially acceptable to drink and smoke? If a bloke goes to the pub everyday and gets drunk, he gets a pat on the back from his mates. He then goes and starts trouble as he is pissed. The police give him a caution and let him off as they say he's only drunk....

Do alcoholic's get treated like criminals?

Why is it not ok for me to smoke a joint in my own house? Am i causing trouble? Have i hurt anyone?

I think he rather means that your body looks like after a croc-attack when you've used the drug for a while

they should legalize pot since then people can do that instead of turning to other deadly drugs. marijuana is a soft drug, less harmful them cigarettes or alcohol.

people seem to have a desire to wanna do drugs and get high. so legalize a soft drug and ban then hard, harmful ones that really harm society.

Now that is true, also seems to be a side effect of busy society.

This is partly the situation here in NL, but I think this fails when it's about banning the harddrugs.

Thing is that many softdrugs 'in terms of addictiveness and harmfulness' are classified as hard drugs as seen in the article posted by Darren (retarded woman who fired him and made those remarks btw)

I think everything below Alcohol in terms of toxicity/harmfulness should be legalized. (picture based on findings of the Lancet & RIVM)

LOL that would mean everybody could get heavy mushrooms or LSD on the street. Imagine what happens when people experiment with it on a large scale, think they can fly and jump from the roof. That's exactly why mushrooms are strictly forbidden nowadays. AFAIK dealing mushrooms is a heavy crime in NL. As soon you get caught you get suspected for an attempt to kill, so don't expect them to get legalized soon.

Though Im curious to try mushrooms someday.... (not for jumping from the roof)

Yeah because of a depressed French girl in Holland stuffing herself with it jumping from bridge

If everybody would take 50 beers at night than our kennis economie is also blown to pieces (if not already)

btw where in the chart it says mushrooms

    Yep, you're right there...

Psylocibine isn't on the chart, same goes for mescaline.
