I want to know which kind of software and equipment professional djs use when they record their radioshows or compilations: Armin Van Buuren in "A State of Trance", Paul van Dyk "Vonyc Sessions", Above & Beyond "Trance Around the World"... just to mention some famous examples
I have a dj equipment consisting of 2Pioneer CDJ 2000 and one DJM 700. I record my sets in my laptop using a Sound Blaster external soundcard X-Fi Extreme and the Audacity software. I just want to improve the sound quality in the recordings and I feel that my soundcard is not good. I really don't care the money, I want something really professional, something like professional djs mentioned above use when they record their radio shows.
Useful information will be very welcomed. Thank you a lot
While I haven't heard your mixes I'm sure the main difference lies within the compression they use when they do these shows - it makes them sound more fat, sparkling and juicy. I'm sure there is freeware out there to help you do this.

Here you can find a couple of sets I made:

How can I improve the compression, which is the best sofware/hardware to record?

I'm pretty sure that someone knows something about what software and equipment famous djs use for their radios shows

I think all those radioshows and compilations are mixed on computer software, not 'hardware'.

ASOT and GDJB were compiled and mixed in Ableton Live some time ago.
Nowadays I think they are still using it but not sure.

I think the same. I read that Armin uses Ableton to record his ASOT, both annual compilation and radishow and also the yearmix.
I would like to know which kind of sound card he or other top djs use to record their sets.
I've found this video in which Armin presents his new "Universal Religion". Could ayone identify in this video if there is any sound card?
