Posting threads without samples

Someone posted threads for each and every track appearing on the latest ASOT-compilation without giving any information at all, just the names of the tracks involved in the release. Now, this feels very uninformative so you put up a rule saying you must post samples in order to create a thread.

Now, what happens to the threads being created after Armin writes "ASOT 2013 feels good man" on Twitter? Am I not allowed to create a new thread if Above & Beyond write "collab with Armin, Ferry and Tiesto coming up" on Facebook?

I think you have to draw the line between making 10 threads just because you've seen the tracklist of a new compilation, and making a thread out of a rumor*/posted facts!

you may post away everything that you like about rumors and gossip, in music related discussion if you want it in the UR section it needs to contain samples.

Oh really? That is a pretty major change then! Then the Arty & Mat Zo - ID thread should be deleted I guess? And so the other 357 other threads about upcoming tunes that haven't seen the light of day yet

True that my friend! While you're at, you could make a rule saying if a new remix of an already released/known track has been played/whatever, you post the new remix in the old thread instead of making a complete new one! Does that make any sense?

^ New remix usually means new upcoming release. Different releases shouldn't go in one thread.

Bootlegs posted is quite a rare case in the UR section so I don't think we need a rule for that at least for now.

I don't know, I just think it's a bit messy with three different threads for three different mixes of the same track, when you can just add (Artist - Title [Remixes]) to the old thread!

It does! Well, as cheer_up says;

^ New remix usually means new upcoming release. Different releases shouldn't go in one thread.

If you have an already existing thread for a release that contains remix #1, #2 and #3 then all samples, new info etc goes into that thread, if a new sample of remix #3 appears it should be posted in the already existing thread and not a new one, obviously. One thread per release and that's already the case, or did you experience otherwise?

Now, I don't want to see that Enhanced-topic getting closed just because it doesn't contain any samples.. I just think it's a bit weird when the moderator himself kinda breaks the rules although members pointed out in the thread that there isn't any sample available! I think you should edit the rules a bit... I don't know how though!

Well thread about Digitally Enhanced vol. 5 should definitely be moved to a music related discussion since there's no sample. same about that new Schulz track, imo there no need to close any threads, just move it to music related discussion till there will appear any previews, and than move it back to UR

I know I've made a mistake. The Digitally Enhanced vol. 5 thread is closed, and won't be open before any samples are up on youtube/soundcloud.

I think you can create a thread after Armin posted "collab with ATB done" - you'll talk about expectations, rumors, previously released collabs etc.. Same way with the new Enhanced Session! The reason why you put up this rules was because of the way XXX created 10 new threads about all the new songs featured on ASOT 2012. That just got annyoing

No. The reason I put it up was, that I was used to that when I saw information about some new release. Not because of ASOT 2012 or anything else.
At the time I posted it, I had forgotten all about the addition to the rules (the one about samples MUST be included).
