    The funny thing about the pillars of creation is that it's not there. It hasn't been there for 6000 years now. But the light takes 7000 years to get here, so we will see it for another 1000 years.

    True, it was destroyed by a Supernova some 6000 years ago.

    Found it in this size but looks to be suffering from jpg compression artifacts. Could simply be a expanded hence pixelated file. Unsure as to the original source: http://jootix.com/upload/DesktopWall...-5388x3777.jpg

    At Hubbles own webpage you can download a large sized picture of it, but it looks the same. I think it is simply because it is 7000 light years away. Taking a picture that far away with limited light emitted from it causes a lot of noise, even with telescopes.
