Prob is Barton mistakes his stupidity for badassness, I doubt this would have any effect on him, dude's bat shit crazy!! A mere ban wont mean anything to him, a fuckin lobotomy is what dirt like him deserves.

I'm not aware if it exists for players but I believe there should be a system whereby a license is needed for a club in a professional league to sign you. There would be criteria similar to boxing whereby if you bring the game into disrepute like this, if you repeatedly get sent off for violent conduct as he has been you're stripped of your license.

How does he still play at a club? Unbelievable.
To be fair when his heads in the game he's not a bad player in my opinion. Then again when their bad points start to out shine their good points you knows its time to throw the book at him.

Joey Barton is a la legend.
Best thing about Joey Barton is seeing him play live, and when he comes over to take a corner or something you get the chance to make him hear what you think of the... man!
