Opinions! Too many releases/threads without purpose?

No such thing as 'too many releases' imo. The Upcoming Section is for me the reason I joined this forum. And besides every DJ/Producer I talk to knows Trancefix because of the great support/feedback on their releases. So imo the more 'trance' releases being posted the better. Of course there should be rules for members who only spam a youtube video with no information/release date/label etc.

True that though. I can't really see how they are appreciating the comments here... The only producers that get positive comments (I haven't seen any feedback what so ever in theUR-section) are the ones producing 140-stuff. With some expections of course..

Maybe there should be a section where only dates + videos are posted, and no other info/discussion are being made. Like a "quick-look in the trance-scene"

So make one!

You could also disable the post count for UR forum.

But why should I and 25 other members get angry before something happens? It's nothing wrong with sending him a message telling him to stop posting worthless threads immediately. It isn't 'mean' or anything (and if it is, who cares?)..

What would you like to see added to TranceFix, and what / how would you like to see it different ?

- We keep a section where pretty much all releases get posted. Bam, video, good.
- Add a section where users can post their favorites (including older tunes/classics), with a clear intention of discussing.

Then we serve both groups, call the new section: "Hot or Not" and you're done.

There is a "catch-22" to limiting the U.R. section as I see it. Many people come here to check out releases from the mainstream labels, and many come here for the smaller "indy" type releases. Unfair or not, sometimes the smaller releases are deemed "a waste of space" despite being a quality release that doesn't receive many comments (I find myself liking many of them more than the major labels tbh). I think the more releases, the better it is for the trance scene. Everyone has their specific tastes of course. My solution for this issue would be to allow each member to block/allow a specific poster/artist/label/remixer--this would create what I think is a win/win for everyone. If you want as many releases as possible, no changes are needed. If you don't like a certain U.R. poster you can opt out of seeing their posts. Hope this idea is helpful

There are two reasons I think there are less women on forums. One, they generally probably don't understand or see the social potential of internet forums. They probably think it's a "nerdy" thing and don't see it as a discussion medium for their interests. (That was me originally before I gave this forum a shot). Two, they probably are intimidated by tech/computer things and probably too "scared" to give it a shot.

Also, there may be a lot more women on here then you think. They may be shy and not as outspoken. There may be some that hide behind a male-tagged account. That may sounds crazy but there are some that do that to avoid being mistreated or something along those lines.

Ok so first of all i would say that i didnt like how the thread started, i do like how UR section is but i think it could be better. I like it because for time to time i get too hear a good that will come out. Yeah there are a shit ton of threads that make it harder, but is good to know theres a lot of music coming out and that i might listen to songs that i could enjoy.

What about this:

I like this idea a lot, it would keep the UR section with the massive threads that people like me search in order to find more songs to follow and it will give us another section where we can tell or points of releases.
