Daniel van Sand ft. Meiko - Leave The Lights On

    http://soundcloud.com/daniel-van-sand/daniel-van-sand-ft-meiko

Didn't get any response to my previous topic, but hopefully this vocal track will get a bit more attention

I'm pretty satisfied myself with both the instrumental and the vocal at the moment. Would love some feedback though!
Heavily inspired by the sounds of Cosmic Gate (Nic Chagall) and Myon & Shane 54.

More details on the track will come later!

I like it. I definitely hear the influences. What tools/vsts did you use for this song? Especially the main saw pad/synth. I love that hard/soft jumpy effect that you use and always wondered how it's done. Just automation on attack? gain?

    Thanks Amber!
The synths are basically some layers of sylenth1, Nexus for a hidden piano in the break, Omnisphere for a choir-sweep-thingy and Klopfgeist (Logic synth) for the bass.
My reverb of choice is Breverb 2 by Overloud (http://www.overloud.com/products/breverb2.php).
I also use a lot of effects and plugins from the Waves Diamond-bundle (http://www.waves.com) which I bought last summer. Couldn't live without it! Some noticable plugins I use from the bundle are the C6 and SSL-compressor on the master-channel as well as the SSL-eq on almost all my channels.

    I'm not sure which synth you're asking for, but;

Pad (Troughout the track, noticable in the break) - Just some detuned saws with a white noise on top. With a minor attack and some release to keep it warm. 1:6:1. 4,5ms attack and 20.0ms release.

Saw-synth (From 1:13) - Again - just some simple detuned saw-waves. Zero attack, 25% decay, 50% Substain and release. Low-cut EQ and a basic 1:7:1 sidechain with 3ms attack and 110ms release

And there's the rolling tom-sounding bassline which is made from the Klopfgeist-synth in Logic. Really great simple synth for low frequencies (sub basses, clicks, toms etc).

If you have a copy of sylenth1, I could probably give you the presets for both the pad and the synth if you ask politely

    Hey Daniel,

That sounds great-given me something to aim at :-). There doesn't seem to be many people doing original vocal tracks so it's great to hear yours.

    Best regards

    Chris

Sensational track, lovely energy in the lead. Those vocals are really crystal too. The melody is a bit on the generic side, but hey, still a big track!

Lovely track! Very catchy, although maybe a bigger build up to the climax of the track would be something that could make this stand out head and shoulders above much of the stuff being released at the moment. But yeah, this is amazing, keep up your good work!

Great production Daniel, well done! I really like the flow of the track as well as the sounds you used. Any chance that this will be released?
