Threads about specific tracks being moved

Another question for the mods:

Earlier today I posted Matt Bukovski - ID [TBA] thread but now I see it's moved into another thread. I can't find a rule saying it is not allowed to create a thread in the music discussion section about for example this track. So I don't understand why it has been moved. Could this been explained please?

The below has not moved into another thread either, which makes it even more confusing. Probably the below thread has been moved out of the UR section into the Music Discussion section? Strange trhings are happening!

Threads must have 2 of 3 aspects (artist/title/label). That's what they agreed on for now. Your thread only had 1/3 = delete.

Moving upcoming ID tunes to Main discussion is something we want to avoid at all cost.

But why is it deleted? Why is it not allowed to discuss about this music? At Facebook and Youtube it is allowed. Why not on this trance community?

As I've said on another thread:

Upcoming music is discussed in U(R). U(R) got it's rules. One shouldn't spam MD with UR-alike threads just because they don't follow the rules on the UR section. It's like 'my non-trance events don't belong in events section, but I want people to discuss it so hey, I'll post them in MD!'.

As for that other thread, it was moved when we had older rules. New rules apply from the day they've been announced.

Now the thread ha sbeen moved into another thread so people don't actually see the subject title and don't a new track of this specific artist is going to be released. Is that really the best alternative? Why has it not been moved into another section as full thread?

I think they do it because of that stupid "uktunitranceteam" posting countless IDs...

Anyway in this case it was my choice not to reveal the title and label yet, but people knowing the artist and having an audio sample would be interested in discussing my track IMO

Fully agree there.

Discussing and promoting brand new tracks should mean gold for a community like these. Being the first to have new material means food for thoughts for people who want to keep up with the newest music. Strange action to hide this music in some random thread in the Music discussion section.

I've send the admins here a message to share this thought, maybe they have proper alternatives.

You would think that it the goal of this forum to discuss and promote new tracks like these to the max.

There are a LOT of threads but that is not something TF can change IMO. When many new releases are coming up then they are being discussed, nothing wrong with that I would say.
How many tracks do music shops have on their shops? Millions? Do you ever hear customer complain about that? Probably not cause people like a big range being offerd. As long as you make proper filters etc so that people can easily and on a fast way find that what they are looking for. Is that something you guys can work on is simply deleting and limiting new tracks your favorite option? LOL

If it is too much for people to check then I suggested to add another thread/section/chart whatever which shows the top rated tracks. Most popular etc. Just a solution for that problem, something to think about. That's being discussed already, right?

But anyway what you are saying here is: let's put this thread offline cause anyway there are too many threads.
If that's the case then I rather put other threads offline. We have an offtopic section full with relative useless threads. I find an upcoming release without track title much much more interesting to discuss and promote then some useless offtopic thread. So in short I find it weird that TF puts threads offline with brand new tracks which are quit cool to hear and discuss.

There's also a thread about Energy 2013 - without any info like date or line-up. When will that one be deleted?

Your post is full of personal opinions assumptions. Quite a lot of them are not supported by the majority of people on here. I could go into them, but that would take me a lot of time.

- Shops do have a lot of tracks -> people are actually complaining about that the same way as they do on here. "too much crap", "can't find good music", etc.
- New releases are not discussed, which you say in your post, but they are posted. That's a big difference.
- Favorites is already been discussed, will probably not work out as mods don't have the time (nor dedication) to do it well.
- We put the threads offline that annoy others. It has been stated by lots of members that the amount of non-informative threads is too much, and creates a mess in the UR section. It's not just a LOT OF THREADS, also... a lot of threads with (hardly) information.
- Offtopic seems "not important", but you can check the numbers of replies and views, that section is liked a lot. So as you can see, this is not a general opinion...

While the new Matt B. track might interest you, apparently seeing "Matt B - ID (TBA)" is not interesting for a lot of members. They are annoyed with yet another thread by 'some artist' without any information. This is why the rule is created, to avoid such topics.

If it were only one or two of such threads, then we could "see it through the fingers" (ignore it), but as I said, it happens SO FREQUENTLY, that we do have to be stricter.

I personally would go for a different route completely, rather then making the UR strict, make it loss (ID's allowed), and create a special section (Hot or Not) where people can discuss tracks, also for example cool classics that people found and want to share. A completely different goal compared to the UR section, where it seems to about posting and checking out new releases.

That would suit the needs of both those who want to check out new tunes, AND the ones who are there to discuss and look at what's "important" (because those will be posted to be discussed, obviously).

See now I did get into it anyway... Hope the post makes sense

Thanks for you extensive reply Voci.

IMO the goal of discussing and promoting trance is way much prio then having 15 people being against having such threads online here.

I strongly disagree with this rule which says TF will delete these kind of tracks/threads and hope the TF crew is open to suggestions to reconsider that rule.

Basicly my answer in my first post has been answered so I guess it makes sense to continue discussing this issue in the other thread, in the "website suggestions" section here.

Well if you can find another 10 regular posting members who strongly have the same feelings then you, then you have a point.

Imo we are not a promoting tool, but a community.
