Try to find an older version of some recording software. I use Goldwave ,but the others listed nice programs either.

i used to love using the simple recording programs you can download for free, when recording, but ive since moved up to logic for my recording needs (whatever that may be)

I have audacity, but how do i use it????
I've just bought a cable that you can plug in in your pc and in your mixer.

Cooledit can do the trick (i think it's from adobe now). It has multiple track-support

I use Audacity and I have a really small crappy computer and it works excellent for remixing as well as recording sets

How about this utility? i just do some googling, then stumble upon streaming music recorder that helps you record streaming sound from computer. Any audio that you hear from your computer can be recorded.
