TranceFix Review: Adam Ellis & Fenna Day – What Makes Your Heart Beat (Amsterdam Trance Records)

Purveyor of energy charged uplifters, Adam Ellis set the benchmark exceptionally high for himself when he first emerged onto the scene with his debut single Napalm Poet on Kearnage back in 2012. Since it’s release the producer from Sheffield has gone from strength to strength releasing on a string of reputable trance labels and now after years of hard work he finally gives us a glimpse of his hugely anticipated artist album in the form of vocal collaboration What Makes Your Beat with rising trance vocalist Fenna Day.

What Makes Your Heart Beat is prime time fodder, it’s a mixture of driving basslines, soaring mainlines and acid kissed tones – all of which impeccably contrast Fenna Day’s powerful but euphonious vocals. Enter the break, through glowing pads, crescendoing arpeggios and a powerful love-struck vocal the track takes things up a notch before delivering an endorphin inducing moment across dance floors and the likes.

A masterful musical-craftsman, Adam has always had a knack for writing peak time tracks that have more feeling and empathy than most and What Makes Your Heart Beat is no exception to this legacy. What Makes Your Heart Beat is sure to please the modern trance protagonists and beyond.

Release date: 05/06/2017
