If this was released back in the days of arisen, i dont think anyone would have cared about it. One bit! Its so damn basic, it feels empty with no sections just a leadup to the break and then same empty beats again until it ends, feels repetitiv, melody is bland and forced.
I dont care if it sounds like old anjuna in sound-design. It would be one of least liked and memorable tracks if it were released in the "golden" era for sure.

And i condemn the first person who writes "its not that bad". Maybe it isn't THAT bad, but its certainly bad.

How can you make a return after more than 10 years whith such a mediocre track? He can be ashmed of this track allngside all the other failing bunch of "returning" trance producers.

Congratulations.

I like it. The melodies are nice and the production is punchy. Sonically it sounds like classic Anjuna, esp with the piano.

First of all, I have to say I'm glad he's back, and hope he's in good health. He's one of my favourite producers, and not because of Arisen (though it was the start of that). But not just back to trance, back to music. Whatever he made, he was great at it, and I hope to see him continue to make stuff.

Let's get this out of the way first - if the name Arksun wasn't attached, I would've said it's nice and moved on as soon as the track ended. I was never a huge fan of Anjuna uplifting anyways so I don't care for that part of it.

I won't comment on the style as I'm tired of uplifting, but what this is missing is a soul. It's nice, but his works were always unique to him, and he tried a lot of different stuff even. This feels like conforming to the genre, something he always said he wouldn't do, and what kept him from returning earlier. I'm missing his signature, which isn't a certain sound, but a feel.

People don't know what a brilliant sound-designer he is, and even though the sound design is good here, it's nothing new, it's what we heard before. Maybe he likes this kind of music and wants to make it, but somehow, I doubt that.

But let's be gentle here, this was a collab after all. You can't make 100% of the decisions in a collab, so maybe it's not all on him. Let's hope for some proper Arksun works of art. I hope he doesn't get discouraged by the feedback here - if he reads it.

Oh, and if he does, an MP3 of Desire would be a perfect late holiday gift.

What a perfect Arksun track.

This would be more interesting with a different bassline and kick. Right now both are pretty much standard tech-trance.
The breakdown reminds me of Nitrous Oxide's early work, including the pluck melody.
Something doesn't sound right about the climax... it's like its elements clash instead of blending together. There's a slight "harshness" to the lead synth that feels off in a track with this style.
IMO it's a solid 5/10. Listenable and might sound good on a large sound system, but not particularly memorable. It's no "Hoopoe - Hutan."

Meh, was never a fan of this style. Like anything anjuna, it was overdone to death, and it wasn't that exciting in the first place...

Which style ? This sounds more like the 2010 style doesnt it?

Yes that one. Maybe my memory fails me but it sure sounded like anjuna only made tunes like this one back then - same 4 note anjunapad breakdowns, anjunaplucks, etc.

Nitromethane - Time to Die (Searque mix)
Aspekt - Mobetta/Something Else
Oceanlab - Beuatiful Together (Original.Signum,Seraque mix)
Endre - Kill For You /Kallocain
Koglin/Grant - Circuits/Sequential

It was when Adam Nickey,N20,7 Skies,Dan Stone etc came in and established the plucky trance it got more generic imo.

But thats OT.

I do like the breakdown though. Really like the gated vocal effect thingy and the pads, plucks. Best part of the track.
