Thought we could just boot up TranceFix when we felt like it, log in and out depending on how pretty we feel that day, without having to notify others?

I'm off to the park, and I'll be back later as long as five great 150bpm tracks are posted.

Magnevi: I was thinking about leaving, but for the absolute opposite reason. I got frustrated at one point that this forum only appreciate oldschool trance and most of the users cannot really accept that trance has moved...and changed.

There is no point of leaving for you, cause there is no other forum where you can actually state that this track is bad and even got some likes for it :D

Yeah perhaps we should be less frustrated about whether or not music we like is well received. We have different tastes, right? I personally agree that (especially more mainstream) trance has moved on, but in a shit direction. You are of course free to disagree and like the music, but why get frustrated about my opinion?

You keep using the terms moved on and changed like moving on and change are automatically good things. People do accept that trance has moved on and changed... but in a very bad direction. Hence lots of negative comments. Do you not understand that?
Would you rather that people react to poor quality music by saying that it's great and wonderful when it isn't? Just because something is new, modern and current doesn't automatically mean that it's good.

Of course, if you like modern trance then great, more power to you. But when people make negative comments about it they have lots of valid reasons for doing so. And these reasons are usually given in the messages. I'm not sure if you even read the criticisms properly and understand what people are saying.
What you're saying is that people should just shut up because you can't stand anyone criticising modern trance.

Yeah I use the same words, cause I still dont understand whats the point of hating the style instead move to some other, if you dont like it anymore...
Just simply stay away from these threads...I also dont open threads with sub-genres thats not fitting my taste, or at least I try to just ignore it and leave it...

I also dont like the current state of trance, full of steroids and templates....but this track actually does everything right for what it is...and thats cheesy vocal trance, euro-trance if you want, its the best what you can find in this sub-genre. No reason to bash it for anything. Its epic, catchy, peak-time, euphoric....totaly deserves the hype

Propeller: what actually brought you to this thread? Why you even put effort to open it when you know you will 100% dislike it. Its totally not your style...Have you ever seen me to jump to the housey, proggy oriented thread saying its souless boring crap??

See my point: besides trance, im also a huge synthpop fan. I used to be a huge Depeche Mode fan, in their Alan Wilder era. Wilder left, their style changed, so I moved on to listen to some other synthpop groups and sometimes I play their old stuff which I still love of course. I would never do the thing, that I would go to their forum and comment every of the single release how crappy it is and how it used to be better. Why on earth I would do that...so my question is, why some of the TF users are still doing this? again and again, and again....

Are you some kind of a police that tells people what they should and shouldn't comment on?

yup, I used to engage in that sort of behavior on other platforms, but I found that, on a personal level... its just extremely tiring. Nowadays if I genuinly hate a piece of music or am just extremely bored with it is give just it the cold shoulder.

Agreed. No point wasting time commenting on a track you don't like (or you know you won't like from the start).

Much better use of time listening to music one likes. There's so much music out there these days, past and present. I'd argue that it's impossible to not find music that is to one's taste.

So it's somewhat confusing to see that threads with the most hated music are often the ones attracting the most discussion. For me at least, i assume people go on forums to find music they like, not music they hate.

You should consider taking the same approach with all those different lifestyles/cultures/beliefs/people you don't like also.

the only exception I have on that rule is in things like the producer section or any simillar place on this forum where a constructive back & forth can be had. In things like the "new releases" thread its utterly pointless, there's no way Ben Lost in this scenario is going to go "hm, Lets pull that release from the download stores and make changes for the better"

and so its pointless bothering with it really 🙏

Man, you have no idea how many times I got offended on this forum, just by saying that I like some particular track...someone always reply: your taste is garbage, track is shitty so is your taste, you only like 138, or even if you dont like progressive, you have bad hearing and so on...people here are just like crazy...many users here have no respect, the board is still called trancefix not oldschoolfix.nl or progressivefix.nl...i like trance....even the new one, but that seems to be the problem.

Don't be, and don't ever apologize for something you're passionate about.

Its worth keeping in mind in the back of your head that the fact thát people (both positively and negatively) react the way they do too, in this case Trance music here, is because its (been) a powerfull, impactfull thing on peoples lives. And so in that sense its understandable to find anger and frustration in someone getting bored or annoyed with that what used to be his or her passion... It feels a bit like watching your favorite pet die.

and so yeah.. can be worth seeing where they're coming from as long as they don't attack you personally.

If, however, it eventually turns into nothing but a constant stream of ad hominems and Bile thrown at you as a person, just for your aesthetical stance on things.. there's an amazing ignore function for frequent harraser-users who do nothing but bark at you. ;)
