My thoughts exactly. Plus, why wasn't JVD allowed to make a remix that is similar to Anticipation if Lemon & Einar K did that very thing themselves in 2008, a year after Anticipation was released? I'm talking about their remix of Daydream:The JvD remix of RAMsterdam is an incredible track - i dont care if its a rip-off...they made it better.
I think one of the Parade of the Athletes tracks borrows from Airbase/Ozone/The Scarab as well. That whole album was full of references to previous work, i.e. Coming Home was essentially Theme from Norefjell (DJ Jan & Christophe Chantzis remix).Tiesto's version (whoever remixed it under his name) is massive tho, from the breakdown onwards. It's 10x better than his interpretation of Adagio for Strings (itself kinda stolen without proper credit in the track name)... or perhaps I'm just a little sick of how overplayed is the latter.
I included the Above & Beyond version because the title suggests that it's their composition.
The story goes that Inzite remixed Robert Lidstroem's track My spirit [2003], but Transa straight-up put their own name on Inzite's remix, labeling it as a "Transa vs. Inzite remix." Presumably this caused some controversy, and a thread about this was made on trance.nu
Although it's hard to verify how valid those accusations were, I don't think they're too far-fetched. Transa never defended themselves, and Exciter Recordings (and their own production career) ended shortly afterwards. That is very suspect, and unless Transa come forward today we can only assume that is true.Oh that's interesting. I thought of that track as one of my favourite Transa remixes and now it appears to be Inzite remix

Precisely this happened with System F - Out of the Blue and Gouryella - Gouryella. I doubt anyone considers Gouryella a "rip-off" of Out of the Blue, since they are both from the same producers.Lemon & Einar K came with an idea. Which was Anticipation. This was a huge trance hit in 2008, on Ferry's Flashover label. When they use their own idea again for that remix, that's obviously fine, since it's their own idea. It's not that strange too to re-use your own idea, when you just had a big hit with it.
Yeah! That's the one.Yes, this is the one you're thinking about:
Premier Recordings Statement for release "Low End Theory - Changing Souls".
It came to our attention that “Changing Souls” by Low End Theory has previously been released as “Zero Altitude” by Dinka, originally released in 2009 on Anjunadeep.
Premier Recordings has released this track unaware of the fact that the person who submitted this music demo simply stole it from Dinka.
We feel sad for Low End Theory, whose real name is Michael Prior, and want to warn our business colleagues about the project name Low End Theory and Project X Recordings based in Oswana, Canada.
We are in contact with all rights owners and they will receive the income accordantly.
Thanks to James (Anjunabeats), Maurizio (Sirup Music) and Dinka for their understanding.
Premier Recordings,
A joint venture between Black Hole Recordings and Flashover Recordings.
Dude, I don't get why JvD is so famous. Everything I've heard from him is boring and generic, including that RAMsterdam track. This is coming from someone who likes the steroid trance of ~2014 like Photographer, Angry Man, Sneijder, etc, so the genericness and boredom levels of RAMsterdam must be off the charts. When Jorn used their idea, it was not his own idea. Hence, he stole and simply copied it. The problem I have with the whole RAMsterdam track, is how much praise it gets. Somehow, it's like in the top 10 best ever. It's a classic. I don't know how that's even possible when it's a track so clearly re-built on a previous hit by a different producer.
Maybe that's the piece of information that I was missing. I started listening to trance in early 2009, so apparently a year after Anticipation was released. Yeah, things start to make sense now. I thought it went under the radar, as many good tracks do.Lemon & Einar K came with an idea. Which was Anticipation. This was a huge trance hit in 2008, on Ferry's Flashover label.
