Last few months have ben really good, I made a few filler songs, but some good prog house ones too. I felt stuck doing almost the same thing, but fortunately last month I made quite a few different styles

Nice melodic progressive
https://soundcloud.com/lq5vxcb1rzbn%2Fdj-recharge-the-future
Straight up EDM/Dance which I wasn't planning sharing here, also had to fight with a copy right strike
https://soundcloud.com/lq5vxcb1rzbn%2Fdj-recharge-monster
I really love that progressive house version of the song, I think I like it better than the breakbeat one
https://soundcloud.com/lq5vxcb1rzbn%2Fdj-recharge-bulgaria-part-3-progressive-mix
Deep and hypnotic prog (psy) trance
https://soundcloud.com/lq5vxcb1rzbn%2Fdj-recharge-acid-dreams
And for a change and felt comfortable returning back to prog house;

2 filler songs/demos not worth mentioning, but I still like uploading filler songs to keep busy.

Overall not bad for a month...

Hi Recharge, i just noticed this thread. Ive also just listened to Acid dreams. It is such a great piece. I started thinking of old Detroit techno or Richie Hawtin vibes from his F.U.S.E days.

its such a well written piece.

I find it difficult to say some types of feedback comments but your ability is so good im going to.
I really am not sure about the kick. Sounds in my opinion quite the wrong sound. Although part of me can see why you used it I just think there is too much strange eq or tube distortion type sound to it.
I kept thinking it needed a kick with mire of either a gentle 808ish thud or a more modern Anjunadeep style kick. Marsh / Ben Bohmer style kick.

There is something so deep and atmospheric about your music.

You really do seem to have a sound of your own. A sound I very much like.

Thank you, you, Lost Legend, Gagi, jetlag have been the primary people that gave me feedback and encouragement.

I was thinking about that myself. When I started I used a lot of tutorials to copy artist like Lane8, Ben Bohmer, Rufus Du Sol and eventually I started experimenting with doing my own thing. I think I still have a lot of influence from that time and the fact that I always use the same synth for all my pads, atmospheric sounds and most of the arps also makes it sound like my own. I am guessing not a lot of people use podolski which for me is arguably one of the best old school sounding free synths.

I think I am bridging a bit the gap between typical dark old school progressive house (not the one related to trance, but more like Stan Kolev for example, although I think he makes more modern melodic lately ) and more modern melodic progressive (Anjunadeep, Colorize).

Something I notice about this more modern progressive is that the drums are bit more varied/creative something I am figuring a bit more atm.

I think in only 2 years I went a long way thanks to making my goal producing more and more music even if some songs are left feeling a bit unfinished.

I have such wild ideas sometimes like shaping my own hi hats from synths and making arpeggiated hi hats which I have done in a song or two.

I am still figuring out things, I had a goal of releasing a song this (my second) year, but after I rejected the only genuine offer I had on label radar, I am not so obsessed with it.

I still get my 10 rejections every month, but I noticed that the same labels have started checking my my songs for a while now. Also sometimes it's hard which song to choose when I do 3-5 songs per month normally.

I have to admit I think I fail to put more energy in my songs which is why I get so many rejection and a lot of time I get feedback from people that my songs lack variety although lately I am improving more on the variety thing.

Yeah i think there is something to be said for using analog synths etc for making drum sounds. Im surprised label radar reject many songs of yours. Ive never sent things to them aoart from a Tiesto competition that i knew wasn’t that good. It wasn’t a great original track ‘the motto’ but something led me to try something. In the end i tried a few mixes and dumped them. Then suddenly wrote from 11pm to 8 in the morning to write a complete new remix. It wasn’t finished as to boring arrangement so not surprising i didnt get anywhere. There must be better ways to get signed than label radar, I suppose they sign music they think will make them money, which often im afraid isn’t often the best music.

Just listening to ‘Monster’. Liking that too, the vocals youve chosen are really good ( or is it a vocalist you used in person?)

Interesting sounds, quite gentle yet the track definitely has a strong energetic vibe in the EDM genre.

I listened to a few minutes of Bulgaria pt3 too. Blimey, quite a striking vibe going on there. In your music you seem to be so incredible at that (sometimes) spooky but profound deep vibe.

Acid dreams and The Future I listened to again. Enjoy them a lot. The Future is probably the track of yours that will pull me back to it the most. Its slightly addictive!

Question: How long do your tracks take to make in general? Or does it vary a lot?
Cheers Recharge.

For Monster its was a sample from splice I even had to fight a copy right strike on Soundcloud, thankfully I proved its a royalty free sample.

I actually like producing edm and future bass/pop for fun I have 4/5 songs and I can see influence from those styles even in my dance/prog breakbeat songs too.

I made this remix for Monstercat competition, really loved the original.

Looking back I think failed the bassline, should of been much stronger with more energy and It might of had a shot being in top 5

Normally a few hours to work out the general idea a 8/16bar loop with everything in it like a master loop (term patent pending :)and one more day to work out the structure normally the next day. My daw is Serato Studio and it has a very different approach to structuring your song. It takes very long time to workout the structure but it's actually the only daw I know/learned. I actually like it so I hope in the future they make structing closer to other daws. I am guessing it's something already worked on.

I have been in it since it's beta. As a beta tester I pay 50% and was even given the option to buy it, Its fairly new daw, oriented towards djs. I would say it's still in development. In the next version 2.0 it will have stem separations ai, which is perfect because I wanted to do more mash ups and remixes in the future.

future in a very mayday atmosphere, congratulations because you really feel mayday.
the second track reminds me of the chords from . bulgaria too difficult for me, i don't know what you wanted to say. acid dreams sounds cool dark, I'm jealous I try but I can't do anything dark myself. not an easy thing.
The five is also Mayday. use the theme on November 10 and 11 members of mayday u us w poland. if you see such a disabled person in a wheelchair, it's me;)
