This is my first fully original track in almost four years, and the first I made using all four of my hardware synthesizers. My favourite music always elicits certain environments in my head, so I aimed to capture more or less the same that's in the artwork. I also went for some Jon Hopkins vibes here. I started it back in 2019, but I finished this in a five hour Ableton marathon last night and I think it stands as my best work yet. Please let me know what you think! And Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh yeah, this sounds very enjoyable! I would say learning the pro production tricks would take this to the next level. Just some slight arrangement tweaks etc.

This is very intriguing, first it starts with a calm almost peace full sound then it becomes lively. I like it very much

Really liking the intro. Has a really nice ambient vibe to it - great sound design.

The groove feels a lot like some of the trancier melodic house some of my friends play out, the lead synth has 2000's era Deadmau5 vibes to me.
Some nice layering in there, but it does feel a little bit chaotic to me around the 4-5 minute mark, it's hard to really focus on anything at once.

Overall it's a good track, would probably need a 'club mix' version if you want DJ's to play it, but this version works well as a stand alone track.

Thanks for the feedback! What sort of pro production tips do you mean tho?
I can't put my finger on it, but it's what separates a good production from a top-notch production.

Your track builds nicely (and logically), there's nothing wrong with the arrangement. But with just a bit of sound design magic and creativity in the arrangement it could be really awesome. I don't know how to put it into words, maybe listen to what Jon Hopkins does and try to compare?

Hmm. Well, I did originally create it with the intent of being shorter than 7 minutes long, since back in the day I hoped to show it off at a Social event of fellow electronic musicians and producers, which capped submissions at 6 minutes a track (which obviously didn't pan out, and then the pandemic happened). I know there's always more that could be done on a track, but I felt like I'd reached a stopping point since a) the mix was already really dense and b) I was up late and wanted to get it done so I could play it on the sound system at my family's church on Christmas Eve, the following day, since I was helping to set up for their service. Also, given that it's the first full original work of mine since the beginning of 2019, I guess I'm a little rusty at a few things :)

Yeah @LostLegend I didn't aim to end up with as intense of a wall of sound as I did, but a goal for the track was to use all four of my hardware synths in one song, so I guess they fill up the mix pretty good. I think I did pretty well with the mix since I can hear all the distinct layers, but that might obviously be different for others. But thanks for your feedback all the same!

- Really liked the first few minutes, just has a cool vibe to it
- Basseline is very nice
- Nice breakdown at 3 mins with just the synth, that was really cool.
- However as track went on though I lost interest. Basically does the same thing mood/melodic wise for the entire track. Feels like you landed on a cool synth bass combo but felt like it was cool enough to make a whole track, but really should just be the foundation for bigger idea imo, not the entire track itself.
- Found the little one note piano very cheesey wishy washy, complete mood killer for me.
- Production wise sounds good, but does sound maybe a little rough for some elements.

Not bad though. Would love to hear a Trance track from you.
