Was just responding to Perpetous Dreamer, he reckoned my claims of high ranking intelligence officials saying that the UAPs were alien was bullshit, so just showing him recent video to show that it is indeed true. The network is irrelevant, it doesn't change John Ratcliffe's words, his quote is there plain to see.
Fair enough. I was so hoping to finally get a link to the actuall report, hence my dissapointment.
The report is basically the same as what we had before, only new info is that the sightings have continued and then breaks it down into explained and unexplained (171). Ratcliffe of course has seen the data on the unexplained, he is telling us it cannot be explained prosaically, that its technology based, and that its beyond anything the US (or humans) could envision. Writing is literally on the wall.
Right then, after me asking 3(!) times for a link in this thread I went on a find the report myself, because as we all know, extraordinary claims requires the receiving end of that to go and find the extraordinary evidence themselves..
https://www.dni.gov/files/ODNI/documents/assessments/Unclassified-2022-Annual-Report-UAP.pdf
And I for one am glad the report is more honest than the reporting on the report.
Second paragraph in and the report already reads quote:
“Assumptions:
Multiple factors affect the observation or detection of UAP, such as weather, illumination, atmospheric effects, or the accurate interpretation of sensor data. Regarding review or analysis of UAP events, ODNI and AARO operate under the assumption that UAP reports are derived from the observer’s accurate recollection of the event and/or sensors that generally operate correctly and capture enough real data to allow initial assessments. However, ODNI and AARO acknowledge that a select number of UAP incidents may be attributable to sensor irregularities or variances, such as operator or equipment error.”
Then later on: In the chapter “continued reporting and robust analysis are providing better fidelity on UAP events, but many cases remain unresolved” (so basically the 171 “real” UFO’s)
“The majority of new UAP reporting originates from U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force
aviators and operators who witnessed UAP during the course of their operational duties and
reported the events to the UAPTF or AARO through official channels. Regardless of the
collection or reporting method, many reports lack enough detailed data to enable attribution of
UAP with high certainty.”
So basically, all very vague
(but how, pray tell, since we had that super-duper most advanced aerial surveillance system on the planet?? ) and derived from reporting post hoc from other institutions, instead of the institute recording the data themselves directly, which is always going to cause mouse-piece-of-cheese problems. They are, again very much to their credit, quite upfront about that.
What the report doesn’t show (to my chagrin):
- Actual data.
- Actual data properly cross referenced, so are the (say) 50+ radar sightings dependent or independent of camera capture and ground surveillance etc.
- Indexing (so how did they determine this was a weather phenomenon or not etc.)
- And, most importantly, Independent peer review of said data.
The “final and obvious conclusion” of the report is and still remains the interpretation of a UFO fanatic who so happens to be a high ranking officer..And no amount of ad veracundeam/ testimony is going to be sufficient as evidence to proof these sightings are therefor known-physics breaking down and therefor Aliens. No matter the rank or position. That’s just not how it works.
End rant and conclusion for now:
This
(at least to me, you lot are obviously free to make of this whatever you want of course) is again one of those examples of the press and adherents taking the ball with that and running..Every news outlet, like the linked fox news one, doesn’t even go through the motion showing or hinting any new “evidence”, and uses the same old goddamn screenshot of a duck being parallax recorded at 0.52 in, as well as that afterburner plume switching on and off recorded in infra-red later on.
They lead the "evidence" where they want it to go. You could replace Ratcliffe with a devout PhD graduated Cleric with a Pilot’s licence and get sold the “final and obvious conclusion” that these are angelic beings because their description so fits that of insert text from X holy book over here.
I for one find the actual evidence wanting as usual.
But..
will, when taking an evening stroll under the night sky, look up, hope and pray, that in my lifetime we’ll see some actual evidence of Extra terrestrial life or tech, forever hopefully solving the fermi paradox.
