Nothing will ever come close to Nothing Left Between Us when it comes to Askew vocals in my book. That was such a different track from him compared to everything he has released. This one works for me, can't wait for this to be out.
Interesting fact: Believe it or not, this is actually the first original vocal track by Askew in more than a decade!
I would not say that this type of vocal is PVD-esque. He usually gets rock/indie singers (Rea Garvey, Johnny McDaid, Peter Heppner) which don't sound cheesy like this. That arpeggio melody in the climax though is really really nice and upliftingIt sounds like sth that PVD would produce. I am not used to '' happy'' Askew

Honestly, it's about time trance introduced this style of vocals. It sounds modern and relevant.Anyway, about this track here, i really like the main lead. But everything else doesn't seem to fit well here: the intro sounds random, the vocals seem more fitting of a pop dance track
Of course when you compare it to the POD period. This track resembles to sth that PVD has been making lately.I would not say that this type of vocal is PVD-esque. Askew back in the Discover days was heavily influenced by PVD, no doubt. Just like GO early on on VANDIT, Indecent Noise for the first 3-4 years, and many other energetic trance producers that had piano leads.Of course when you compare it to the POD period. *Forgot to mention this track in particular, which sounds very "PVD-esque", retro... in a good way.
