Does anyone know of any artists, big or small, that is producing classic trance in the modern era? I know it's a bit of a niche since it's not the "hot and trendy" genre anymore, but I'm just curious and thought the community would have some idea.

So far, I only know of The Thrillseekers Pres. Hydra and another artist that goes by Coredata from Joof Recordings, who produces music inspired by Platipus Records.

I'm really into this, released last week

DJ Metatron ‎– Loops Of Infinity
Went to the store and walked back while listening to this and it was dark, raining, and really fit the mood of the album. Somewhat melancholic, yet really deep, moving, beautiful, and haunting. "Loop 95" is my favorite.

Interesting that he put in just loops and elements of songs in the album, without making them into an actual song...I feel like he probably was just focusing on the vibe and didn't feel he needed to add anymore.

Overall, it sounds like a movie soundtrack from a Gaspar Noe film. Thanks for sharing.

Wtf these tracks you are sharing are great @TRANCEBLASTER, especially The Kings Tribute and that DJ Metatron album. You should share this stuff in the Upcoming Release section when you find it man. Cant really believe its 2020 music if i'm honest, great finds

This one also nice from Emotive Response

I will have to go through my library for names but I find a certain portion of old school trance labelled as psy trance, progressive psy trance to be more precise. Its on the range 128-135, but its definitely classic trance. On beatport just search for psy trance releases on that bpm range you will find a lot of songs(pro tip: unfortunately these days on beatport everything is labeled psy trance, so no point to look for prog psy trance releases). Overall not bad idea to look into it. I also find some in the trance release section but I have a big dj library and they are not that many(bit harder to find since they just have trance labels as genre).

Edit:

I have an whole album from Asia 2001 ‎– Abduction (Expanded Edition) which is pure oldschool trance from this year although original album was released in 2001 and I am guessing he reworked some and added some new songs. Another artist I have a whole album from is Koan (I find him on the edge of real progressive psy trance and a bit of classic trance), keep in mind some of his songs are pure psy trance. Overall not bad idea to look into it.

Also this one, there is definitely some psy trance that is so much closer to classic trance than modern:

Just checked the top 10 Trance at Beatport and half of them are classic trance remixes turned into "big room" trance, so I never really thought to scour the site hoping for classic trance since they would probably not be in the mainstream spectrum and be far and few in between. Nonetheless, appreciate all the info.
