These Korean chicks are gorgeous!
Left: Seo Ji-hye (36)
Right: Son Ye-jin (38)

Honestly, Crash Landing was really cool. It's pretty accessible for Western audiences, and yet the North Korea / South Korea story is the kind that could only be told in Korean media. You know how some anime series (ex. Fullmetal, Code Geass, Attack on Titan) and video games (Dark Souls) receive acclaim because they tell stories in the way that only their medium can? Crash Landing is like that but for kdrama.
I'd totally recommend. The first episode is nuts and some of the CGI/special effects are really cheap, but overall it's worth it!

Pfff, gotta go to South Korea and get myself a wife there. 38 and looking 18. Do they love white guys there?
Lol I mean, maybe? I think it's one of the more likely pairings that isn't Korean/Korean. Definitely see that in the US every now and then - one of my friends from college was like that.

BoJack Horseman

It's an animated comedy/drama series about a washed-up actor and comedian BoJack Horseman (who's a horse-man, of course), and it starts with BoJack trying to revive his career by writing a book about himself.

Only just wrapping up season 2 (out of 6), but I gotta tell, it's amazing. Season 1 is there for getting to know the characters; it's kinda slow-paced, but funny, eventful and keeps your attention. But season 2 is just something else entirely. So, so dark and depressing. And I'm told it gets even more depressing as the seasons go on.

Oh god, finished this last night. 2nd to last episode just shook me. There were some dark moments throughout the series as well, as well as some episodes that were just incredible in every way, an achievement basically. This wouldn't have been possible if this hadn't been an animated series.

At times it felt a bit slow and casual, but it's all worth it. It really felt as insightful as reading a great book.

Holy Satan's balls.

Just watched the first episode of Yellowstone. It's Cowboys vs Indians but 21st century x The Godfather (but without the mafia part). Really great stuff. Created by Taylor Sheridan, who was a writer for Sicario, among other things. His other projects like Wind River and Hell or High Water were probably the inspiration for this series, so if anyone likes that this is just miles better. Kevin Costner is great as the lead, and Kelly Reilly's psycho role strangely turns me on.

The scenery (and cinematography) is amazing (Yellowstone, duh!), the production is excellent (Paramount Studios, what can you expect...) and the writing, so far, is great, acting as well.

Damn, there goes my full week.

@Katadunkass you'll love this.

And here we go again!

Yesterday I finished watching Angry Mom, a kdrama from 2015. A mother finds out her teenage daughter is being bullied at school, and after realizing the legal system (school, police, courts) won't do anything, she takes it upon HERSELF to investigate. She gets help from an old friend, puts on a school uniform, and, using a fake name, enrolls in her daughter's school. However, as her investigation proceeds, more and more disturbing facts about the school start surfacing. However, she is powerless to do much, as corruption is rampant.

It sounds dark, and it kinda is, but it's also hilarious. The shenanigans that come with a grown woman (~38 years old) wearing a school uniform and enrolling in high school while concealing her activities from her family are hilarious. Her old friend also helps her by being her fake "mother." One of the high school students who is a total bully/thug ends up falling for her!
A lot of this sounds like it makes no sense, and in fact some of the characters would have been great at CinemaSins, but damn it was entertaining to watch. You just have to suspend your disbelief about her "looking young," haha.

The design looks phenomenal. A 4K TV is high in my priorities now.

LOL!
It's a good series, and you can watch it for free on Youtube at low quality. If you want it in HD, it's available on Viki, but you need the pass plus ($10/month).
Word of warning. Once you get started with kdramas, it's going to be really difficult to stop.
I would recommend watching episodes 1 and 2 on Youtube to see if you like it. The actual mother wearing high school uniform part starts on ep. 2.

I've watched some Kdrama before, and I was kinda turned off because it all seems to be romance dramas. One was an especially demented, being about a couple of girls who were switched at birth, and one of the girls was in love with her "brother", while the other was constantly treated poorly by her birth mother, because BM was used to the first girl and didn't like her own girl as much.

I've seem some good Kdrama work, but storylines like that are a huge turnoff.

Ah! The description didn't sound familiar, so I looked it up and it's... Autumn in My Heart. As I expected, it's old. Production quality was not good back then, but kdramas have ramped up production quality since 2016.

Gotta follow up here.

The first season is great. Amazing. Every recommendation.

But, the second season (and all after it) just have the same curse most of the series have.

Focus groups, non-writers with opinions, going the easy way, having a tight schedule, limited budget etc...

I mean, it's obvious what happened following season 1. The main antagonist, an Indian, now joins the forces of "good", and the enemies are white, corporate guys. The cowboys turn into handsome guys with perfectly trimmed beards and perfect skins (except for 2 main guys). The major fuck-up of a character turns into a silly, likable goofball. The main character, instead of being a true force of a man, turns into a soft wisdom-spewing character. One of the major characters, from a proper killer, turns into a rugged but emotional boyfriend.

Every main character turns for the better here. The lines of good vs evil are less and less blurred, the relationships are less complicated and the events are less believable.

That said, it's still a good watch the entire series as the first 2 seasons are just so entertaining to watch. The third season is a bit off-beat at the start, will see how that pans out.

I just finsihed Attack on Titan Season 3 part 2. I had no idea there was a part 2 until my friend pointed it out luckily before I dived into season 4 like a muppet. Part 2 was incredible, this show is fast becoming one of the best animes of all time. They hype is real!

When does season 4 come out? I see one source that says its today and another than says the 9th? Also is it gonna be subbbed or dubbed? Haven't been this excited for a show in a long time.

I also just re-watched another anime called Golden Kamuy (Dub). Its also so damn good, in my top 10 probably. Probably one of the best dubbed anime out. Its hilarious.

This (spoiler) was one of the best moments in the entire series. The build-up to that was phenomenal. Seeing him get absolutely wrecked after all the devastation he caused was fantastic.
According to Funimation/Crunchy Roll, season 4 premiers today at 2:45 CST, so roughly in about an hour and fifteen minutes from the time of this post. This will be the version with English subtitles. That's probably because in Japan it's already Dec. 7th, the day the series is supposed to air.
