Not quite a TOTY for me. Has some absolutely great ideas, just not executed as well as it deserved. I think the beat & bass combo doesn't do it justice.

The beats, acids, bassline ad flow is there and the mmm lofi noisy snare is great. energy is there! def.

i just dont connect with the melody at all. its bland. too bad. theres no proper ideas I feel. and it does sounds TOO similar to his/their other tracks unfortunaly. Too similar for its own good. When a track is so similar it almost gets identical its something wrong imo. The m&m sound is there as it should, but he could have added something a little different while kept the signature sounds.

I will have to come back to it.

Haha strange how we came up with two completely opposing conclusions about the same track... It's not like we disagree about many things.

This made my day. Wonderful track. Love the melody and the acid sounds. Brilliant.

Maybe its semantics haha. So what do you think are the great 'ideas' in this track? I think its a well-produced bold crafty driving track, but lacking the proper ideas, melodically, thematically. Something I'm missing in most m&m tracks are some nuance and dynamics. They really nail the analogue hard-hitting raw aspect but their tracks are too straight-forward, too dense, too mechanical, rushing to the next bar-transitions. An exception might be Raysa. I can prolly pic up some cool production/sonic 'ideas' but the core idea of the track is missing somehow. Also I doubt you have listened to as many of their other track as I have? Its really similar execution ,structure , sounds, rhythm patterns to his/their other tracks. Therefor I cant say this track has "some great ideas" because its too similar to their other stuff. So i dont really feel encouraged to listen to this one again because of the obvious similarities, but I prolly will, atleast a couple times. Just to give it a chance.

I really like the baseline in this one, especially with how it kicks in at the start and the subsequent build. The main melody is sub-par though which makes the second half of the track slightly underwhelming. Not one i'd be revisiting much but it certainly made for an interesting listen.

Finally!! Been waiting more or less 18 months for this track to release. I see there are quite diverse opinions about the great and not so great parts of the track. I for one actually enjoy the big lead melody, it screams M&M, not that the base and percussion and acids are not doing that already. Not saying it couldn't have been slightly more energetic (since the baseline is packing one hell of a punch), but I don't see it a weak point.

Now, M&M have always been stuck in their comfortable sound design and track structure, but the reason I love their records quite a lot is because of the execution. Production is always clean, the sounds are crisp, and they use elements that sadly are lost to 99.9% of producers nowadays: eerie vocals chops, stutter effects, double-triple kicks to set up a climax/breakdown, etc.. I know these are all small things, but it makes the track easily standout and give them that old school vibe. 15-20 years ago producers were using these and a lot more techniques to create interesting arrangements and I appreciate this level of sophistication.

Well deserved track of the week. It's probably the best I've heard from M&M. The lead melody is interesting and works. You can really feel the power when the claps start. The intro and outro very clever too. The bassline and other effects remind me of Tilt - The World Doesn't Know. Great use of the vocal chops as well.

Still don't know about this one. Love all the sounds but theres something about the pace of all the elements that i'm not sure about. I want it 2bpm slower, and a bit more subtly in how things build/appear. The main melody seems to lack bit of finesse too, not hugely into it. I could honestly enjoy the track more if half the melodic elements were taken out, love when the acid does all the work in one section.

Haha I've changed my mind on this one. The mastering seems off. Everything sounds a bit thin, including the lead melody. There's too much high end of the treble and not enough mid range. It all sounds too frenetic and fast paced as well. Still like the ideas and structure but for a modern track it needs to be mixed far better.
