New Mabel EP This might not be quite this forum's favorite style but Mabel is probably my favorite DJ of 2023.

Maybe I'm conflating the ideas of golden moment meaning "peak of quality music" and "peak of popularity." The two are widely different notions imo, though I guess they did coincide for trance, depending on who you ask.

Strongly disagree with this. It was popularized by those youtube channels and vaporwave-aesthetic simpsonwave videos but it was around (and frankly a lot more interesting on average) before that all came about. A lot of early vaporwave is quite avant-garde and definitely not a "functional"...

UK/neuro-inspired cinematic bass music/glitch hop/whatever people call it is having an amazing time right now, lots of young producers doing really incredible things. Think KOAN Sound (they're still kickin but they've gone more orchestral recently), but some other names include Stasys, Azaleh...

Previews: DJ Life is another one of the more recognizable nu-trance names even if half of what he does is closer to tech house IMO. I've liked his juicier bass and drum grooves, plus use of more aboriginal-sounding synth choices. Those are showcased more on B1, Frayed. A1 is a pretty mellow...

I agree with the majority here that they're all very similar, yet quite strong. Definitely going to collect the EP for my own usage. From the DJ perspective, it's quite nice having the ability to fine-tune your track selection (if you want to think about it that hard) and I always love how these...

Upon full release, I'd say it's a pretty good release; some of the tunes are a bit samey but overall solid. Not touching Sleep D's album for AOTY though. Favorite tune remains Schponglen, Hands In The Air and Full Moon Party would be fun to hear played out too.
