Petition to Rename "A State of Trance" to Reflect its Shift from Traditional Trance Music

I think the reason for the demise of Rock was a mix of a lot of things happening, one of them was the fact that Electronic Music started to permeate itself big time in the Pop Music world already in the 80's, only to become stronger and stronger as time went by, to the point that at the certain...

Petition to Rename "A State of Trance" to Reflect its Shift from Traditional Trance Music

To be absolutely honest with you, I think this is pretty much pointless. Even if a lot of people sign this petition I don't think much is going to change, if you ask me. What I've been noticing as of late is that Armin has pretty much become a mainstream Techno DJ judging by his most recent...

    The state of Tiesto

To be absolutely honest, I was never really that much of a big fan of Tiësto. I mean, he was fine from 1998 up 'till 2002, and that's pretty much it. And like some people already mentioned here he was never really into the music, realistically speaking he never even slightly produced a single...

OUT Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Rank 1, Ruben de Ronde - Destination (ASOT 2024 Anthem) [ASOT]

I just realised this was a thing, and I honestly just need to ask: Why? I mean, they've done it once in 2021 because it was the 20th ASOT anniversary, why repeating it three years later for no apparent reason? And I'm not even going to say what I think about numbers one and two of this new...

    Similar trance tracks & rip-offs

Two recent cases of obvious rip-offs: The copy, from this year: The original, from 2003: I'm surprised A&B really didn't bother with this to the point of releasing it in their own label, I would be seriously pissed off if it were me. And another one: The copy, from this year: The...

The curious case of producer Ingmar Veeck

So, basically, some sort of DJ Mystik with the difference that he actually produced his tracks? This sounds to me like some sort of mockbuster but related to music, are there lots of these out there? I also remember that in some Dream Dance compilation early volumes there were some knock-off...

It's not the first time someone tells me something like that. xD

    Unpopular trance/electronic music opinions

Back in the days, if you wanted to be consider a proper respected DJ there were certain tracks by certain musicians which you could not ever play because those were considered "cheese" and to give Trance music a bad name, that's why most high-profile Trance DJs back in the 2000's, for example...

This is barely news to me.

Classic Trance Database [100%] & Classic Trance Curated Database [10%] - Last updated on August 5th

Well, for a genre that is pretty much thirty years old as of now, there would obviously be some tracks that would inevitably fail to stand the test of time, that's only natural.

    Similar trance tracks & rip-offs

Honestly, from my point of view, I think "Steroid Trance" had its start more or less in 2006 with productions like the ones I mentioned above, what differentiated them from the more classic forms of Uplifting Trance, especially the ones supported by Anjunabeats and A State Of Trance (the label)...

    Similar trance tracks & rip-offs

Oh yeah, definitely! That is quite noticeable for me, actually! We should also add Aly & Fila who literally can't produce, I'm still trying to understand how the heck they became popular in the first place. Let me also add in a more "steroid style" these tracks in particular: Sean Tyas - Lift...

    Similar trance tracks & rip-offs

Anticipation itself has a far better production, for example, nothing sounds way too loud or over the top in it and the track flows well, in general. In fact, I could include most of Lemon & Einar K's productions and remixes from 2008 here but if you want me to give you examples, sure, I have a...

    Similar trance tracks & rip-offs

I'm sorry but for me it sounds like it was done in a hurry with no proper quality control, even disregarding the rip-off issue, I just don't see why it's considered a Trance classic, if anything, I would say this track marked the beginning of the downfall of Trance, for me.

    Similar trance tracks & rip-offs

I somewhat care because I think it's important that people know the truth, it's the same issue with Quench - Dreams and Lost Tribe - Gamemaster, or Jam & Spoon - Follow Me and Dumonde - Tomorrow, you can like both or you can choose one over the other but the truth will always be: The second one...

    Unpopular trance/electronic music opinions

I don't know if they were produced that way but that's not necessarily a good thing, a lot of tremendous Trance classics were produced with the technology available at their time and they still sound better than most so-called professional productions these days.

    Unpopular trance/electronic music opinions

Wow! Thank you! This is what I've been saying for years! You have pretty much encapsulate everything I've been saying about Trance not dying gracefully when it was the time for it and being kept afloat like a Zombie, it's pretty much the same thing as The Simpsons. Really, thank you for saying...

Shocking stuff that destroys what was once our trance scene

Yes and no. I think what you mean by Trouse/Trance 2.0. is that kind of Electro-Sidechained-Trance that used to be extremely popular back then with the likes of Cosmic Gate, First State, Myon & Shane 54, Alexander Popov being probably the main producers of that style, eventually what happened is...
