Man With No Name - Floor Essence (David Forbes & Fish56Octagon Remix)

Had a few attempts at a response to this one after seeing Fish56Octagon's name attached to it, but I'll just say nope and that it highlights everything wrong with the scene today for me. Each to their own of course.

    Enigma State - Illuminate

These authentic classic style productions are what set Nath' aside from the rest, and for most of us, that's the majority of the appeal and why he's become popular in the first place. There's no 'esque' , it's simply that pure classic sound so many of us miss. I think the collab 'Lately' with...

Chicane - The Sleepless Year [Armada Music]

It's really nice melodically, but the hi-hats seem too loud and sharp at least to my ears. It takes away from a lot of the good things going on. Would love that toned down along with a slightly more prominent bass line.

Airbase - Escape / For The Fallen [2006]

Airbase - Escape and Arksun - Arisen are probably my two favourite tracks from 2006 (which was a pretty dire year for Trance in general IMO). 'Amateurish' sounds a mad thing to hear someone say, but of course we've all our own ears and thoughts on what sounds good in them. I think it's f**king...

Wavetraxx - Breath of life (Single) [Drizzly Eclipse]

The melody sounds very similar to Woody van Eyden - Y68 to me. Enjoyed the Peaktwins Remix of that one.

Sean Tyas & Enigma State - Lately [Pure Trance]

Thought I'd add my two cents to this and more or less repeat what I already said to you Nath'. I do enjoy some elements with this one. The bassline, the gated vocal and the 'portamento' style melody :p... it's mainly just that heavy side chain type sound that my ears really don't get along...

The Conductor & The Cowboy - Feeling This Way (Remixes Pt.3) (incl. Enigma State Remix) [Pure Trance]

I do prefer the dub myself of the two, but to me it sounds more along the lines of a The Mystery type remix from RVDB to me than the mentioned Madagascar. I love so many remixes that take a completely different path to the original though, it's half the fun. I used to love that back in the day...

    Dee Dee - Forever [2001]

This is the only version for me. Great remix from Pulser

The Best of 2023 - RESULTS!

Congrats to @EnigmaState once again, as well as the rest of the producers who make up the list. Fully expected Borderline to take the best label and also Movement: One to win best compilation. A big well done to Activa as well as the producers like Alan Morrow etc who've released some nice...

Union Jack – Two Full Moons And A Trout / Lollypop Man [1993]

The original is nice, and I love the Caspar Pound Mix of Two Full Moons. Lollypop Man is proper underated too

Enigma State - Sacred Art / State of Mind [Self Release]

The digital release will tie in with the vinyl release so whenever it ships then it'll be available.

Enigma State - Sacred Art / State of Mind [Self Release]

Can you make this a bit bigger mate, I can barely read it  Great to finally get things over the line here though, and hopefully we'll see the final product shipping shortly.

Enigma State - Sacred Art / State of Mind [Self Release]

Don't like to kill your excitement guys, but this shipping date / message was posted in error from Diggers. Not even too sure how they managed this. The initial Test Pressings we received were actually pressed at the incorrect RPM, and we should be receiving the second batch of these very...

OUT Ferry Corsten - Yes Man [Flashover Recordings]

If this was released back in the day it'd be a mid level (at the very best) track from Ferry, but today it feels like one of the better tracks he's put out in some years. In saying that, the vocal is awful IMO and ruins it for me. Doesn't fit this style of music at all.

Inertia - The Chamber (Greg Downey Remix) [Subculture]

Skimmed through after being disappointed with the opening part and the only mildly interesting section is the breakdown IMO. I do get those types of tracks that aim to be banging and hard hitting keeping the melodic part for the breakdown before reverting and stripping things back, but it just...

Enigma State - Emotions / Needle (incl. Remixes) [Self-Release]

I do enjoy that slightly more laid back vibe to the J1S Remix of Emotions but the original versions of both are best here IMO.

OUT United Trance Division - The Power of Love [Life In Neon]

I quite like some of the sounds used, but the track itself doesn't really hit any real high points for me. Whilst it's more enjoyable than a lot of current sounds, it doesn't really go anywhere and also has an amateurish feel to it over all. Too much 'plinky plonky' keyboard stuff happening for...

OUT System F - Dance Valley Theme 2001 (Disk Space Remix) [Flashover]

Soulless and weak. Without that bass line in the original it feels almost pointless

OUT Chicane - Saltwater (Young Marco Remix) [Armada]

An insult to the original which for me is one of the all time greats. That gated sound feels so cheap, and the whole track lacks any of the magic, soul or depth which the original had in bucketloads.
