William Orbit - Water From A Vine Leaf [1993]

A beautiful original and worthy remixes. Spooky remix is the one for me

OUT Definitions & Andre Maier - The Gate [Borderline]

Very strong release. Hope John does more like this

In Search Of Sunrise - Which one's do you prefer?

Yes this is unfortunately true. There are a number of transitions in the early ones that are very questionable. Maybe this is because Tiesto was using vinyl to record the mix and not relying on the computer to do all the work like todays mixes.

The Orb - Little Fluffy Clouds (Original Mix) (1990)

Classic yes, but its not Trance, or even prog.

Blue Planet Corporation - Digital Forward (2001)

Very good and unique tracks, it's the small things that make them. Not heard Entropie before.

OUT Jackob Roenald & Mike Moor - Our Dimension [Borderline]

The new Borderline tracks so far do come across a little straightforward and missing a creative edge or identity. I have been enjoying their output though, and continue to listen to the ones released so far happily. The solid foundation and approach is right here, but the potential is not fully...

OUT The Digital Blonde & William Byrne - Last Time [Pure Trance NEON]

Nothing outstanding but a style I always enjoy.

(Why) are there no new ideas in trance?

Maybe there are not enough labels around to give a home to new types of Trance? I am not sure what the rejection rate is based on sounds not fitting the label's style, but I have a feeling it's a thing. If there are only a handful of semi or fully established known Trance labels then you are...

OUT Allende - Midnight Train [Pure Progressive]

I overlooked this thread. Nice idea for a track, I also like the B2B mix the most as it has more energy and movement. A faster tempo may have benefited all of them as they can feel slow. I can tell straight away that it is an Allende track! Reminds me of some Orkidea track too at points.

(Why) are there no new ideas in trance?

I find some of the tracks on Bandcamp/soundcloud to be interesting new takes on trance, with ideas not heard before. Granted they are strongly linked with house and techno but thats the difficulty when a sound is defined within a relatively narrow range of BPMS and arrangements. Things can very...

    [Old] Progressive House music

Old progressive was highly danceable, contagious music. Today the progressive has abandoned this principle. Little Green Men - These Are TheBeats

OUT Simon Bostock - Reflect [Borderline Music]

I would call it a good "standard trancer", but in all honesty this is well above the standard of todays scene, take of that what you will. Everything sounds balanced and the track is driving, without killing us with the hardest kick and piercing over the top melody. Uplifting producers take...
