The Tri-Series comes to a close with the final vinyl EP of 2 tracks: Disharmonic and Someone Else's Dream.

A much requested ID from the Activa guestmix of Group Therapy of 422, Disharmonic was very much planned to be an older sibling to For What We Have Lost, originally released on To The Point back in 2011. Keeping that main theme of gated pads, Disharmonic takes a beefier, and up tempo turn with a hint of tech running right through.

Someone Else's Dream is a subtle trancer, reminiscent of trance around 2004 and the style started to turn towards more immediately gratifying riffs and production and losing its subtlety nearly altogether.

Between all 3 EPs the Tri-Series covers Activa's take on what the scene has lost and attempt to show that it isn't lost forever.

P.S. I'd call first tune "Airwave - Alone In The Dark (Activa Remix)", hehe.

Disharmonic is for me the best track out of all the tracks from Tri-Series EPs. It has the good old gated synth and nice powerefull beat. Stunning track!

Definitely, you can hear that clearly. Cheapens it a lot for me. Wonder what Laurent has to say about this.

Regardless, it's a bit too modern to go along with these iconic gated pads. So a no from me.

Second track has a bit LOT of Planisphere in it - can't remember which track, but surely one of the first ones, maybe Totem? Same as with the first one - no.

Tri-Series part 2 was much, much better.

Isn't disharmonic just incredibly boring out of all things? Incredible simple basic percussion, structure etc?..

The other track is a little better but still not something worth hanging in the Christmas tree.

That vocal chop from Disharmonic reminds me of an early SiPatt track. Someone Else's Dream feels closer to a classic trance track, something from early 2000s you might find on Anjuna or Lost Language

Haven't been particularly impressed with this series so far. Disharmonic is probably the best track on it though it does sound similar to Airwave, but sufficiently different from a blatant rip off. The production is lot tighter compared to AITD and the way the bassline flows and changes is very diff too. I'd like to hear if there is a longer synth segment in the full version because the 1 min plus in the preview would be too short for a track of this style.

My issue with sampling this melody is that the production around it is just nowhere near as good. I can't not compare it. And even when I try, it just doesn't fit. Just feels lifeless.

And how is it different from a rip-off? He used the main melody, easily the most recognizable element from the original track. Now, it's not yet officially a rip-off, as we've yet to see if Laurent gets credited, but it seems like it, since he didn't make it a remix.

Its quite strange that the melody is so similar to Alone In The Dark - surely he used the MIDI file. But its not the first time theres been a track sounding similar - check out Signum and their (similar!) named track 'Harmonic'.

Has this Signum track got anything to do with it,regarding the title?

idk, I've just listened to AITD and the melody there is a lot more elaborate and complex, and the notes are different too. Airwave's is more of a work of art, this is much simpler. along with a much tighter production and the fast flowing bass drum I'd say this is sufficiently different to say it's rip off.

Weird, can't see it in Mozilla, but in Chrome (where I'm not logged in) I can see it. Thanks anyways.

It's just too similar - ok, the chords aren't the same, so what? Sounds to me just like they were pitched down a bit and that's it.

Now here he changed just about enough for it to not be a rip-off. Still, you can hear the inspiration since he changed the progressions. That said, it sounds so much better than Disharmonic.

Disaharmonic - hmm, some positives for sure but its a tad bland.. I prefer Someone Else's dream for drive and energy - however the main lead is just too stabby and put me off it.

I ordered the first two on vinyl and will be getting this one to complete the collection. First time I got a Trance vinyl(s) in years, you can tell the effort that went into the whole release. The Lost Language, Disharmonic and Repercussion my 3 most liked.
