There's something nice about all of them, but I have to say Orbital sounds wonderful. It really reminds me of a Super 8 and tab track, or something similar from back in the day. Was that an influence @stellanova? Either way, it's beautiful, I love it. The breakdown in The Sky Knows is that same kind of dreamy anjuna fit too, I kind of wish all those vocals carried on into the climax and other parts of the track, they are super nice.
Thanks for your FB! I would love to hear someone remix The Sky Knows actually as I think the vocals and main riff could be more forefront in a more big room style.

Actually i don’t m8, on my monitors/ headphones they sound very well.

maybe Nick purposefully fucked it up for your audio system :p

i'm not, I dont hear what it is you mean specifically.

where exactly do the drums go "digital" according to you?

The percussions from 3:55 onwards - until the end of the track. By the way, was that piano melody inspired from Above & Beyond?

aah you mean the open high hat! m8, thats one part of a 8 track layered percussion stem lol. Bit different then ALL the percussion sounding digital heh you had me worried for a sec. 😄

Yeah i wanted to keep that one a bit thin on purpose. There had to be an open highhats section somewhere after the break to keep the drive going and usually it dominates that area of a track along with the clap (percussion wise) but I felt it took away from the more "mellow" percussions like the claves/bossanova drums/rides etc. Though it was a nice balance keeping that a bit zippy. :)

By the way, was that piano melody inspired from Above & Beyond?
nope, just me sitting behind my piano. I don't really listen to Above & Beyond t.b.h.

This was the song I was referring to by the way. I don't listen the current A&B either they are atrociously bad. Their old stuff was good cheese.

Such a feel-good EP! I listened to all of the demos at some point, and, given that there are more of them in circulation, I have to give kudos to @Hensmon for putting this EP together. I am a big fan of these mixed EPs, it's a win-win for me. We all get diversity in regards to styles, and we get to promote the wonderful producers we have here. Keep sending demos, please!

It's hard for me to rank them at all, but I would maybe say that Aguile might be one of my TOTY candidates actually, just for the (amazing) style. Regarding percussion comments, indeed the hi-hats can sound a bit short and dry at places. Personally, I would have also preferred a longer break, but that's my fault - I could've said it way earlier.

That said, a wonderful job by all, all of the tracks are excellent, and seeing that everyone has a different favourite speaks to the strength of the EP. Brings a smile to my face.

I’m all for these mixed EP releases. It’s just more exciting to have different artists and styles come together at once. The Universe EP from Borderline is another one that comes to mind.

All the tracks are good, but it’s Orbital and Aurora Pulse Remix that I like the most. You should release more on this label.

I used Daysleepers ‘Digital Drums Robotizer’ plugin on the perc stem, progressively with it hitting full wet at 3:55.
This plugin was developed by Daysleeper using exclusively @facade1984 tracks, which are the pinnacle of robotic drums.
This plugin is unique in that it does absolutely nothing, as percussion locked to a computer clock is quantized.

You should consider upgrading to the pro version instead of lite. It includes, among other things, a full set of acoustic samples that you can also program in like a robot

On @Jetflag Aguile track. Yes the percs are fairly simple but that is part of why it is good IMO. When I was chatting to him on tweaking the mixdown one of my observations was the track appears to have been built like a dub techno track. Simple, effective sounds and a spacious mix. More percs would muddy the lovely midrange sounds whereas the simple ones let those sounds breathe.

I agree, that ride just sounds sublime with nothing in the way
