Orbital is simply lovely. The build up with the piano reminds me of Oliver Smith. I love it actually, great work Stella Nova.

Aguile is a kinda too empty for me. I was waiting and hoping for something more melodic to happen because the atmosphere is really nice.

Orbital would fit perfectly on Anjuna's '04-'06 catalogue. Simply beautiful piece of music. Supported the entire EP, stellar work yet again by our fellow trance geeeks <3

Aguile - it could be good but the kick and hats need toning way down. It over powers everything else, not in an aggressive sense but in a balance sense. Do you ever hear percussion like this in golden era tracks, truly? Your atmosphere is excellent but there’s not much else going on in the track, so I don’t personally see the appeal beyond that, sorry.

The Sky Knows - The breakdown and pieces are nice, but they could have been used more. I like the track but with a more old school sound it would be better. It doesn’t do enough musically so needs a warmer old school sound if it’s going to carry itself with the minimal drop and melody.

Orbital - I can see why people like it. Probably the best track. Balanced and dreamy, but could benefit from more intensity in synths and in general. It also builds somewhat predictably. With all the potential on display would be good to see more interesting build up, like a couple more minutes in the track here and there. Careful with not going too formulaic and cheese (a request).

Aurora Remix - the best part of the original was the build up and atmospheric part, and some of that goodness is found here but not enough, and the cheesiness of the original melody (which was fine) has been taken up too much and It feels somewhat generic in execution. Julian please don’t shy from more deeper or more melancholic approach with your sound (another request).

Great EP overall. The Sky Knows is prob my pick from this one, but Aguile is pretty damned close. The Sky Knows is a great openers tool, filling a spot in a set that is headed energy and uplifting vibes, while not being fully committed fully throughout the track. I love tracks like this that sleep a bit and then open open in the breakdown. Aguile is lovely too. While I understand those that want it to be something different, it has this pensive vibe that would be a great connector to two more driving tracks. It would fit nicely in the vibe of say, Solarstone's Island album where the whole journey needs tracks like this which aren't bombastic. Orbital and the Aurora remix are also lovely but just not exactly my style preference. Though classic Anjuna wasn't either :). @Narel the mastering is pristine and it really enhances the experience, so thanks for that. Supported.

Thanks for your FB, yes the whole idea of the Sky Knows is something you'd hear early in the set as a dancefloor is warming up, giving you a moment in the breakdown but back to the darker progressive groove building the atmosphere. I don't listen to a lot of trance djs these days as they miss out the build - which is the most interesting part in my opinion. It's just big tune after big tune.

+1

I din't want to be critical at first, but I have to agree with this comment, I wonder how come that it got approved by the label.

also the start of 'Aguile' is very nice, then the piano at the 3:15 destroys the vibe of the track for me, less is more I think

congrats on the release!

Avalon 62 is, as an alias by gestahlt. An experimental one.

the downside of experimenting as opposed to say: template constructs, is that you most often will miss the mark of what people like :)

cheers for the honest feedback non the less from you both 🙏

Wouldn’t mind having a crack a remixing this m8, it’s lovely
