Love the original mix of Atlas winds hands down it's the best track I have heard. There was some controversy surrounding the use of the vocals because it's a call to a prayer somehow it makes it offensive. I still listen to the original mix and even some of my muslim friends love it too.

Amazing track still I didn't like this other version he made. The original Azaan vocals were gorgeous!

Fuck me, I thought that was Lisa Gerrard. Stunning vocals from Francesca.

The original version is also very very good, I like it! Is there a HQ version somewhere? Somebody surely must have it.

Atlas Winds might be one of his best tracks of that era. Properly stunning trance, well-made and well-mastered. It's very much simple but rocks so hard, that bassline is the bomb. Middle-eastern vibes are incredible. A complete package.

A classic already if you ask me.

Here is the original mix featuring the original singer.

Remastered version and the vocals sound a bit better in the remastered Album Mix

I thought it was removed from all stores! Thanks, found it on streaming as well.
From what I know JOOF used to play the original mix all the time whether it in his sets or on his radioshow. I am also surprised that it's still on beatport as well.

Seriously good release. Atlas Winds and similar tracks from GTG were what got me reinvigorated with the trance scene after a big hiatus when I got disillusioned with the state of things. Tigris & Euphrates I’ll still bang out today too.

well to me, these tracks are already representing the 2010s depressive progressive sound of Airwave, less focused on the melodies and much more shifted towards the groove and strong ethnic vibe that's just not of my taste, I just don't find it trancy enough

I can rather imagine these used for some Afghanistan documentary soundtrack than played at a trance event lol, sorry

Those pads and those acid riffs and reverb vocals add such hypnotic vibes to the track. Melody focus stuff he can produce but he doesn't have equipment he once used to own to make such records.

I don't mind less melodic/groovier tracks, for example I enjoy a lot of Rex Mundi tracks that are like that. What puts me off from this EP and some other Airwave stuff from those times are those middle eastern ethnic elements, just not my taste at all

He was onto something with this sound and the rest of his tracks from the same period. I loved all of them and no one sounded like him. He moved away from his conventional Trance sounds successfully whilst at the same time the rest of the scene was jumping ship to Trouse, EDM or steroid, and like true genius style became one of the best producers from that period. Bring this sound back I say, why not?

This was the best sound he ever had, i think it started with Hello World in 2011 and ended in 2017 with Amber Sky. After this he jumped on the deep trance bandwagon and haven't really done anything great since then

Best Airwave era for me too. His productions has many details and textures at that time, showcasing his next level craftsmanship. That’s an artist evolution I can really appreciate (and envy).

If I was still in touch with him I would pass on the messages but he decided to part ways and get a manager. Knowing him I don't think he likes to remain the same he wants to move on and change with the times but keeping his own distinct sound which I respect. He knows so much about music as well. There is a new Fire & ice in 2024.
