New EP by Airwave. Couldn't get the youtube vids to work but the full versions are on there.

I like these tracks.

The first and last track has potential. Finally it sounds slightly more melodic than most of his latest stuff. Still far away from his classics...

I like these too, first and third are my favourites. Intelligent and subtle trance from Airwave that needs to be heard on a better sound system to be truly appreciated.

From Bonzai:

Belgian electronic music master, Airwave, follows up his last effort, Good Old Pal Anxiety, with the superb, The Everlasting Silence. It’s always an exciting time when Laurent drops some new material and, yet again, he knocks it out of the park with this three-track monster. Busy as ever, he is currently working on sound libraries, another one of his passions outside of creating beautiful grooves for us. For now though, enjoy the lush progressive tones of The Everlasting Silence. Opening the release, we have the title track, The Everlasting Silence. Set on a bed of rolling basslines and swirling, atmospheric pads, subtle melodies entice you in to the groove as gritty, 303 style stabs infect the mind. So delicious and warm, this one is an absolute must have. Up next, Healing Is The Hardest Part blazes and epic trail through proggy vibes, with emotive, heart-warming melodics at its core. A tight construction, solid beats and exotic percussions join an infectious bassline while hair-raising, distant vocals tease. There is a slightly darker tone coming out of the groove which is repelled by the sweetest melody ever. Fact. Closing out the release we have Spring - 2021 Mix. A straight up dancefloor mover with a euphoric trait. A captivating journey unfolds, offering a scintillating and sonically charged groove. Simply sublime.

Everlasting Silence sounds decent the others sound lifeless and plain boring. He can do better than this.

Liking all three. The productions are of high quality, have just enough melody and harmony to satisfy a trance head; they are not static and repetitive, they kinda evolve, go places, which is encouraging. The beats are a bit too prog house for me, those off-beat open hi-hats get tiring after a bit. I would argue that these tracks probably sound great in mixes and work best as background music. I'll take a couple of listens again though, these will either grow on me or won't. But I have hopes that they will. Ultimately, I don't think I'll come back to these, as much as I do to Reus Calling, A Touch of Grace etc. (as far as his modern stuff is concerned at least). That said, I wouldn't mind hearing them again.

I agree with @Gagi. The sluggish hi-hats are a little too prominent but not too bad from a production standpoint. Don't feel excited about them though. There seems to be no let up, variation,/break in the first track which doesn't help . Maybe I just hold airwave in too much high regard for me to really appreciate these.

I'l comment on these when i listen properly - but i dont get why these HQ full versions are getting uploaded by a random Youtube channel, and not his own! Doesnt make sense....he should be making every bit of revenue he can on his tracks.

The label owns the copyright, so even if Airwave uploads them himself, any royalties will be automatically directed back to the copyright owner (Bonzai) and then on to Airwave at whatever rate the label dictates. Bonzai has uploaded the tracks to its channel too. It's literally fractions of pennies so I doubt anyone is too concerned.

The random Youtube channels that mass upload tracks like this shouldn't be able to monetise anything that is automatically detected as copyrighted material (and Youtube's algorithms are pretty shit hot at this now), although I honestly don't know what they get out of it.

DazTC might be able to elaborate?

The label can choose to share revenue with the artist, which is what they should do. (But Bonzai probably wont).

And its not 'pennies' with Youtube channels, you can make thousands with ad revenue.

Surely there are various thresholds of views/subs you have to acquire before you start earning anything worthwhile?

Airwave's last track 'Good Old Pal Anxiety' has only one Youtube video online (Bonzai Official Channel) with 1053 views since June 4th. If Airwave had uploaded it himself, Bonzai is still going to show up first in the results and hoover up most hits. I really doubt there's enough in it for someone like him to be worth anyone's time.

Edit: Ontop of that, I believe it is fairly standard practice for labels to include a "you will not upload the track anywhere in full without permission of the label" clause in contracts these days.

Yeah but what im saying is Airwave is one of the most famous Trance producers ever and made many classics. His channel has been there a long time,he should have millions of views and at least tens of thousands of subscribers. Theres been a really big opportunity missed there, its looks like really bad management of what could be a great revenue stream. And i wouldnt sign with a label if they had a clause of taking all streaming revenue. Even a worldwide artist like Hans Zimmer and the Warner label shares revenue with me on Youtube,im sure small music labels could do the same to help artists!

Bonzai are a bunch of selfish assholes. That's all I can say from my own viewpoint the fact that they give preferential treatment to other artists and not Airwave.

I'm liking these, especially Spring and Healing is The Hardest part. They have a lot more going on than some of the recent laurent tracks. 100% these will be growers.

Also feel like this is a nice improvement from some of the recent tracks. Liking all of these!
