Nice progressive tune by Alex Wright. Love this sound.

Soho's favourite Alex Wright brings us his second release on the label with a blistering track to cement his reputation.

Rolling on a tight, inspiring combo of vibrating percussion and a beefed-up bass line, Airglide is an advanced, power-packed melodic treasure, which again highlights Alex's intricate production credentials and concludes a colourful trance flavour on the Soho house.

I can tell just from the beats in the intro that I'm gonna enjoy this very much.

That said, I wish he'd experiment more with drums and especially percussion, to give it space, an even bigger room to breathe, and to give the atmospheres, melodies and the vibe a better chance of making an impact on the listener. It's what would make a good track a great one, because everything else seems like it's there already.

And I did enjoy it.

I actually dont know if I like this one or not. I got hooked in the beginning but the more it went on it became noisier and messier. That flute/detuned synth sound was a cool element. The break following felt somehow unrelated to the previous mood it vreated and then led to a more noisy techy part which didnt get me convinced..

Also the build strongly reminds me of a pretty big/known track from the past...

Yep, the tech came through too much for me after the break. The melody had promise too.

This is so good. Wish there would be more tracks like this.

It could have offered a bit more when its 8.23 tbh. Its nice but missing something for me.

The percussion is really good - it's weighty, crisp yet still maintaining that tribal, shuffling feel. The overall production is perfectly fine, and sounded good to the ears.

But... even though this was meant to be a techy track, I still feel it's lacking in a central melodic theme that would gel the track together, whether it be a simple chord/bassline progression or a riff.

For a techy track, the climax didn't hit hard enough for me, and wasn't a step up from the first part of the track. So for me, it kinda loses a bit of steam towards the end.

Very disappointing - too much treble/white noise/hissing/whooshy sounds. I can barely feel any music here!
