The final track on Northern Exposure 2, and what a way to end it. This mix is a great one because it puts you in a Trance-like state with the Progressive House journey for 80% of the mix and then drops in a big emotional and melodic moment at the end to complete the climax. Didnt Armin write this in 4 hours?

Holy balls, X Marks The Spot is actually a great trance track. Didn't expect to hear this style of trance from Armin at all. Archeae From Space as well. Just...wow! I remember taking a listen to those around 5 years or so ago, and me not liking them very much. Oh, how my taste has changed... Now I gotta relisten to his early discography again!

I also used to love Blue Fear very much, because it is one of the few unique, never-done-again tracks in this genre. And @TRANCEBLASTER he did make a rework, though in 2003.

Overall, a really strong release from Armin here. It says on Deezer that it was released in 1996, but can't find that info on Discogs.

Blue Fear has that dark yet uplifting feel to it which is rare in trance. Phenomenal track.

Blue Fear itself I've always had some mixed opinions about, but the other tracks of the EP are ver nice, especially X Marks the Spot.

Original is so good, as someone mentioned a great way to end Northern Exposure.

Blue Fear was created with care and attention to small details. To me, it has a Lynchian vibe to it, meaning it reminds me of some of David Lynch's movies in terms of feel and even in its title (Mullholland Drive and Blue Velvet are the ones that come to my mind). The track feels dreamy, cloudy, and dark at the same time, and I'm unsure where it will take me, but I'm eager to find out. So yeah, I have a lot of respect for this track. On a pure enjoyment level though, there are far better picks for me (even if I'm looking for tunes with a very similar sound and atmosphere), and it's just not something I listen to on a regular basis.

Another 2 tracks from the same 1997 release.

X Marks The Spot (which was actually inspired by Speedy J - Symmetry, as he said in one of his interview)

and Archeae From Space
I think it's safe to say that the old armin was a lot better compared to the current armin. Like a whole parsec away.
