Fantastic track imo!!!!!!! Oldskool & the production style is sooo my taste hehe!! The melody reminds me a bit of Fire & Ice & Cloud 69 (Laurent Verronez)
Out tomorrow:

Kinda weird "mashup" of 00's sounds... acid from Cosmic Gate - Exploration Of Space (or possibly DJ Dean - Ballanation), melody reminding Kai Tracid - Follow Me Freely (or something even older, which this one is based on) and finally a Fred Baker snare to finish this up  Not a fan of such combo, even though I like these elements... separately!

Heard it tonight on Asot. It will proabably be bashed here just like always...for no real reason (probably for the fact that Armin name is on the title)....BUT for me, the track si impressive, very spacey, trancey, no steroids, no cheese, the melody is interesting and tasty...not really sure what more is needed, this might be around 9/10 from me...probably in my top 5 trance tunes this year so far :)

Out of interest (and no bad intentions here), what other tracks do you rate 9/10? It's a strong rating, that means it's near or one of your favourites, ever, right?

Im still a massive trance fan, which is quite rare on this site, I even like a lot of the modern production which is hated here...
I wrote all the reasons why I rated the track so high. The track really excited me big time, played it 3 times in a row. And yes, this is already one of my big favourites this year, fully deserved rating...

To answer your question, 9/10 is for me this year for example Activa - Dissharmonic, Dezza - Ghost (Pete K Remix), GVN - Ethereal or Sonin - Titan ;)
My alltime fav could be Sasha - Xpander or Push - Strange World, Universal Nation...thats of course 10/10

Thoughts while hearing it:

00:00 - Okay, Exploration of Space. Got it, it's hard trance.
00:14 - ... what is this track trying to accomplish? These synths don't match with the hard trance Exploration of Space style from the beginning.
01:16 - ouch, this sounded really bad. Didn't like the sudden increase volume and additional distortion in this synth that I already didn't like
02:05 - the synth melody in the background reminds me of L.S.G. - Hearts, like a modern version of it.
afterwards: really not much to say. Pretty much a blend of Exploration of Space, Hearts, and JvD's style. But, I have a huge bias against JvD. I think he's one of the more underrated producers, and I have not enjoyed a single track by him. Not even that one track that became super famous and made Armin cry.

The modern take on Hearts, and a stronger hard trance focus would have been interesting. The JvD fluffy synths killed it for me.

Not a huge fan of the main lead, but the rest of the track is kinda nice actually

Still a nice paradox on this site, if someone likes a pure "trance" tune on site with "trance" on the title...he gets hated and questioned why he rate so high :D
Not sure why Im actually still here, but the reason is, there is no other forum like this...so I will probably stay :D

Yeah did not expect them to go back a bit, but have to say this is a bit meh for me. The melodies are quite old-school in their progression, but no emotional response from me whatsoever. It's cool that they are doing this, but it does sound a bit demoish/musically messy and not like a complete musical piece.

Anyways, that arp melody does sound like it's ripped straight from LSG.

My question would be if there is a trance track, released this year, which would get at least 9/10 or comment like "excellent" from one of the main trancefix user...I doubt so...

sorry for the slight OT

Lol I don't hold back on my criticism.

Hoopoe - Hutan did that last year. For excellent trance music of this year, check out Ovnimoon's album God Gaia and Enigma State - In My Fantasy
edit: Artifact303's From the Stars is also excellent.

Not sure if considered as a “main user”, but Im positive.

The arrangement is nice, not rushed into climaxes. It also used crash cymbals and little snare rolls. I like those oldschooly elements. I also like that synth sound. Melody isnt too bad either.

Listened on my phone, so will check again tomorrow 😉

@Freezer, Gagi even typed “no bad intentions”, so you cant say you’re hated?

Also, we all love trance. Just not the exact same styles. The other admins for example usually have a completely different taste than me. Thats all good. Theres tons to discover! :)

Those plastic leads sound horrible and horribly compressed. I swear when will these producers learn how to make tracks like they did in the 90 and 2000's and let them breathe?

Sounds nothing like LSG Hearts at all. it's just poorly produced.

It's got some cool ideas. Definitely don't hate it, but don't really love it either, as I feel like the production style clashes with those ideas a bit. But it's for sure one of the better tracks Armin's had his name attached to in recent years.

I think it's one of the best Armin trancers in recent years. It's on par with those Shapov collabs, which weren't too bad either. Better than all the recent Rising Star tracks and the ASOT anthems.

I like how they used both a dirty sidechained saw-bass, as well as a more plucky one, switching at 1:40.

Also, in stead of seeing it as "ripping" Exploration of Space, I prefer to see it as a hommage.

Hutan is cool, around 8/10 from me
Ovnimoon is not my style, but i will check that out.
Enigma State, both tracks, has the essence, has the authentic sound of the 2000ish period. But the main melody in both tracks doesnt do anything to me, if these tracks come in 2002, they would have been forgotten very soon. But now, its considered as a little gem and I understand. Still not a better rating than 7/10 from me
