This track was the 200th release on Anjunabeats.

"Rebound", and what a hype it was back in 2011. The production was something else. A really fresh track that made way for some similar sounding tracks in that time. Of course, such a record got some hate too. But for me, this is the perfect blend between 'modern' production (indeed, it's not 140bpm with an offbeat bass and a supersaw anthem), yet still having a lovely atmosphere, sweet sounds, melody, and some cool production aspects that make a great trance track.

I could see why people like this track, there are some cool elements. (of which does not include the horrendous compression)
The start of the downfall for Anjunabeats though...

Full-length mix:

I'd never heard this track before, but damn that bass is filthy.

As a funny, well it's actually more 'sad', trivia... Here's a question:

Will.I.Am used A VERY FEW parts of this track. And then released what created, without permission from Mat Zo and Arty.

My question is.... do you think the sampling was a bit too much, thus illegal? Or is it creative, and is it OK to claim as your own work? ;)

This is stealing not sampling. I hate will.i.am for doing that. Be a shit artist but don't rip-off other people's work.
Shit art is still art because you made it yourself and it has a meaning and a value to you, even if other people don't like it or don't recognize it.
This is straight up awful. It's also funny how his "real" (are they real?) production sounds. They're awful.

I like it, a lot. The bassline is from the Mat Zo remix of Music Is For Rich People (which I don't really mind). I actually hear a lot more Mat Zo in the track than Arty (I'd say it's a 75% Mat Zo track).

I liked this track a lot when it came out, but don't find myself wanting to listen to it at all now. Not because its bad, but feels like a unique and somewhat overly stylised sound that worked for the time but then doesn't hold up too much today, a little gimmicky feeling. Kind of like lifted too. Fun fact the main synth can be heard 'rebounding' between the left and right channels in part of the track.

I liked Mat Zo much more pre-2010. This is not a bad track at all, but like mentioned already that at this time Anjunabeats and the scene in general was already sliding to a bad direction. This still belongs to the plus side of releases I guess.

This is a nice little gem from 2011 :)

I remember this! I think I recall somewhere that only Arty was credited as well? Anyway the track got removed from that album re-release luckily. I also saw Mat Zo make a joke during a gig too which was quite funny 😁
