Today it got to me that Anjunas best releases might have been released in the early years 2001-2003/4 mostly and the other half which some, including me sometimes consider equally as good is sort of sub-par (the electro-hybrid/heavy pluck era 2005-09) But that might just be a mood thing after all. They released vocal trancers all from the beginning of the label aswell (Oceanlab/Far From in Love,Velvet Morning etc) so its really hard to make a distinction of quality releases. Tracks like these does have a subtle quality to them and the melodies seem less in-your-face and in one way more timeless. Im thinking of other releases such as Anjunabeats - Volume One (Anjuna deep Remix), Jono Grant/Mike Koglin - Circuits (Jono Grant Rewire), Aalto - Rush, Matt Hardwick/S&P-Day One,Forever(Aspekt Remix) Northern Lights (Phil Johnston Vs. Aspekt Remix)
For me these tracks defined the label as much as the vocal trance anthems which in all honestly isnt what trance was ever about. Even though I like to listen to them once in while. Something elses melodies is pretty underrated and it opens up so nicely.
I prefer Mobetta over all dj shah/sunlounger/jonas steur tracks tbh. Its soooo chilled, but yet doesnt lack the drive.
