Sounds very late 90’s psy. Brave title though; considering what it is. Well made but forgettable

First of all this is goa trance, not psy. Secondly, late 90’s psy was fucking horrible and its even worse today. This album is better than 99,9% of all trance related crap released today

Go tell the producer and label, as they list both. And then tell me where Goa stops/starts and psytrance stops/starts. Not the modern stuff - which is mostly shite.
IMO the Goa stuff has a certain aesthetic yielded from particular sounds and their modulation, and has melodic elements; plucked riffs, acidy melodies et al. I’ve got records that have this sound back to 1994 and up to 1998 that describe it variably as Goa trance or psychedelic trance. MWNN of course did this very well, and many of these aforementioned records sound similar but a little less ‘anthemic’, with less obvious melodies.
EDIT: I didn’t know there was a whole album, and not just the two tracks in this post. So my forgettable comment may be a bit unfair, and certainly preemptive before I’ve checked out the whole thing.

Global Sect is actually a very prolific label with album and compilation releases semi-monthly, focusing on Ambient/ Psybient and Goa Trance. To anyone missing these sounds, I highly recommend checking them out! They have a rather large roster of artists. Personally, I like Arthur Pralaya's work a lot.

I see it like this: All Goa is Psytrance but not all Psytrance is Goa.

Global Sect has some outstanding stuff and i always check their new releases. Haven't gotten around to this one yet.
