Im usually not into vocal trance, but damn...this is soooo good, soooo fkn good!!!! After 2 years its finally going to be released. It will be probably a TOTY, there is no doubt about it, after 2 years of massive hype, there is no other option.
I love this one, surely the best vocal trance track of the year :)
9/10

Definitely his best follow-up to "The City Sleeps Tonight" so far, although I find that track almost impossible to beat, one of my favorite vocal trance tracks of recent years. It's quite close though.
Not sure about TOTY material (for what it's worth, if we're talking about the ASOT TOTY chart...), because even "The City Sleeps Tonight" didn't reach a very high spot in that chart. But who knows... ASOT listeners always love vocals lol

You should consider taking the same approach with all those different lifestyles/cultures/beliefs/people you don't like also.
Man, you have no idea how many times I got offended on this forum, just by saying that I like some particular track...someone always reply: your taste is garbage, track is shitty so is your taste, you only like 138, or even if you dont like progressive, you have bad hearing and so on...people here are just like crazy...many users here have no respect, the board is still called trancefix not oldschoolfix.nl or progressivefix.nl...i like trance....even the new one, but that seems to be the problem.

I don't know how to remove the quote pyramids from the replies function here, otherwise I would have removed your quote from that. To clarify, that second comment wasn't aimed at you but rather the person who had quoted you. My first, rather flippant, remark was based on the reality that any website with a comment section will inevitably fill up with negative remarks. This hasn't changed in ~30 years and is unlikely ever to. I was not taking the topic too seriously when I made it, and neither should anyone else.

I don't believe I have ever criticised anyone's taste in music here, and I don't believe I have ever negatively citicised any new music releases here either. I think it is to be celebrated that all people are different, and recognise that it is futile to believe anyone is going to change because of someone else's sense of superiority. If you check the classics subforums, you will see that I spend most of my time adding interesting details and stories behind some of the relevant tracks. If I have personally offended you over music please show me where and I will apologise.

The forum has bigger problems than negative comments about music when there are shitty attitudes towards race, sex, gender, beliefs and lifestyle (many of which aimed at the very communities that gave rise to this genre of music) on display, admittedly by a very small minority that lets this place down. Those are the attitudes I will continue speak negatively about, and I make no apology for that.

Absolutely nothing wrong with bashing a song if you dont like it but absolutely no right to personally attack an individual for liking a certain track everyone has different likes or tastes and some of the abuse in here is rather ridiculous at times people have to understand alot of people like 138 and steroid trance as you call it so just deal with it.

Of all the tracks posted on here, why has this one in particular drawn all of the ire? :ROFLMAO:

For the record, I think it's OK. like solid 5/10. Nothing that hasn't been done a billion times before, but I'd dance to it 🕺

Because its this years Concrete Angel haha. The standard of modern vocal Trance has gone down in recent years. Everyone praised that latest Kearney/Plumb track but its not a patch on stuff say 5 years ago in vocal terms.

(Sex refers to male/female, not the act of sex. I recall at least one homophobic post though, if you really want me to dig it up?)

Well dude. You literally said the word "gender" right before "sex" so it was implied you did not mean male/female.

Sure, I want you to dig it up. Thanks in advance.

Well, 'sex' and 'gender' don't mean the same thing, hence I made the distinction.

---

Example:

DAPhBnG.png

Part of a discussion on political attitudes in social media spaces, and how Tumblr became a haven for the LGBT+ community. There would be plenty of ways to reference the community in a friendly manner. This certainly does not look like that.

Additionally, there was a whole page (linked) here that began with one example of outright transphobia, and several posts that were sympathetic towards that opinion:

I would assume if the site is concerned about instances of homophobia it is similarly concerned about transphobia? Or is it only important if it directly offends the site staff?

You're welcome in advance.

I honestly don’t know why you are offended.

A bunch of heterosexual white people talk about stuff. That’s very good. Their perspective might not be as “woke” as you want. But they are in development.

The world will not change if you point fingers and look down on people. It will change if you let them be and let them have their own path.

My dad had no clue about homosexuality. He probably only ever saw semi naked men in leather underwear on a pride boat, on tv. The result was: he did not like me saying I was gay. He litteraly said to a 15 year old me: there will never be a “boyfriend” in this house till you are at least 20.

When I gone to tennis training and fixing my hair before leaving, he said: why are you doing that, there are no girls there.

And similar stuff… you can imagine that having impact etc.

but is he a bad human? Or is he simply the result of a series of heterosexual-world-development? He needed his own time and space to learn that it is OK.

Look at that topic the same way. Some forum users may think LGBT ‘community’ (as if we play board games every Monday) push too hard. Too much.

“white straight will be canceled!!”. that sort of comments.

obviously, they are wrong. You know it, I know it. Pride flag and attention really is needed and great for many LGBT people. Examples in sports are MUCH needed as role models for new generations.

“We” (lgbtq+) live in a world where we are almost never our true self. But we always are aware of surroundings. This results in very small alterations of our behavior. Not holding hands with a lover is an obvious example. No public affection, no flirting, perhaps you even walk different, etc. You act slightly more “straight” as it is more safe.

Its so “build in” our behavior that its even unconsciously. We are not 100% ourselves, and do that automatically. It’s extremely sad if you think about it.

So sure, the attention for LGBTQ is needed. I’m all aboard. But don’t forget people need their own path with this.

the forum members who might have “too simple” perspectives for you…. Let them be. They read stories from other members, and who knows that is all part of their development.

they are not bad people per se, nor do they hate LGBT, they just wonder about certain aspects. Its very good that they talk about it.

if we silent people, you stop their personal development.

You did not expect a serious reply perhaps. Hope it made sense in my crappy English vocabulary :)

I appreciate the serious reply, and I think that's one of the best things ever posted here.

I don't think we're at cross-purposes at all, we just have a different approach to dealing with it. Through various interests, I have very diverse friendship/family circles, and I'm sure, like me, you would agree that our lives are enriched by that. It is very sad that people still need to adjust their behaviour in this day and age, and having experienced the tail end of the 90s/00s party scene, when it really felt like racism/homophobia etc were a thing of the past, it is very depressing to see that tipping back the other way in recent years.

But, you got to the root of my issues here:
A bunch of heterosexual white people

Well, yes, this forum is slightly notable for its lack of diversity, and penchant for 'straight white mens rights' type topics in Offtopic Chat. Every other trance forum I've popped my head in over the years has at least had a few obviously female, non-white, gay, whatever-else (I even recall a furry) members joining in and getting along just fine. From a technical point of view this forum is a great achievement and very well implemented, so it would be a real shame if some of the chat here is putting good people off joining.

The quotes I brought up go back a while, so hopefully we are going in a better direction. Happy to drop this now or take to PMs and let this topic slide.

Your English is great and reads perfectly.

No, I just said it will proably win ASOT voting. Its not my personal Tune Of The Year. Definitely one of the best vocal track tho. I just speak for what I see around me, I see the hype, everywhere (of course except here, but well...everywhere else...)

I agree with the part that this could be concidered as euro dance track os something. But well, good music is good music, no matter what style it is. And this is good for me...

2nd place :)
