Touch the Skies is among my favourite of Laurent's early millennium-era works. The strings he uses here (and in other tracks like Planisphere's Symphotek, or Cape Town's Phoenix Tears) work a lot better than the later orchestral trance subgenre. It just relies on pure harmonic string crescendos, rather than an overwrought movie score-esque soundscape. Still get goosebumps from these
