Chicane is the original video as it has Nick in it for a second - theve edited him out of the Solex one. (which was a later track)

Yeah i'm not sure there really was such a thing in 1997 m8, you're talking about an era in where the net had less then a million sites, and non of them had the capacity to host (loads of) stock footage.
you're also talking about an era where labels had tons of money (due to the formats at the time) and could easily afford expensive, original videoshoots shot half way round the world.
my guess is spinnin' simply worked out a deal with Armada (which Nick and all of his copyrighted material is a part of)
or, better yet. Nick & Michael probably knew each other in the scene and the latter was like: "can i sample some stuff for my solex track of your amazing video clip? " to which Nick/extravangza replied: "lol, sure dude"
